It's a bird holding in its bill a bit key, such as it might use for getting out of its cage. Just two days ago, in "Update: Some additional pebbles have been seen," I had posted this image, which also includes a bird holding a bit key.

Looking up the original Katy Perry song, the single's cover includes both a cage and a bird -- specifically, a crow. On the other hand, that vaporwave version is using a cover from an entirely different album! Its title is interesting though.
Lately I've been getting reminders about the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year. Most places only mention the year's animal, but Mum has repeatedly said it's the Fire Horse. My birth year was of the Metal Horse; apparently years with one's animal are more intense? (One website I looked at wrote "Gold" instead of "Metal". Seemed odd.)
It's literally "gold," but as one of the five Chinese elements it covers all metals, so "Metal Horse" is also a reasonable translation. Yes, years with your birth animal -- corresponding to a Jupiter return in Western astrology -- are supposed to be more intense and challenging. (Bill and Leo and I -- all Earth Goats in the 1979 club -- will be experiencing our Jupiter return the year after yours.)
Speaking of Gold Horses, Katy Perry on that single cover appears to be wearing a gold horse headdress, even though the song is called "Dark Horse." The crow is also gold.

Challenging... Uh, yay? (The equation with Jupiter returns makes sense. Interestingly, I've found that Jupiter is "out of bounds" in my natal chart, a rare occurrence. Isn't very much online info about its interpretation so that's another thing I'll be asking an astrologer about.)
Oh, hah. Looking at all this on my new phone, I had no idea the cover art used gold because of an "eye comfort shield" mode I have active at night. It's different to other blue light filters I've used; instead of a flat change to the light temperature, this seems to be altering colours individually. The biggest effect with the cover art is the gold appears to be silver instead.
Also, now I look closer, those purple crystals are a sync for me. Details will come in email within the next few days.

As I've shared I was a bank teller most of my working
life. I met Marshall at the bank.
In my previous bank clerk comment I was going to mention
the fact that the enclosure where tellers' work was
originally called a Teller Cage which I'm sure you know that.
In modern days of course the teller cage
is called the teller station.
I decided not to include Teller Cage
in my previous comment about a bank clerk
because it didn't have anything
to do with water. But lo and behold,
I see the cage reference appears in your post today.

When I first started working
at the bank in 1979 ( and yes I remember you
saying 1979 was when you were born ) ...
I was given the teller number 4 at the branch
where I first started.
My grandparents' house address where I grew up
was 1021, which equals to 4. As I've shared before
I believe that the number 4 is one of my 'frequency
numbers'.
In my teenage years and in my early to mid 20's
my family moved to an apartment.
The street name where we lived was Banker Place.
I lived at Banker Place when I started working for the bank.
IRL and symbolically in the metaphysical realm
a bank is where valuables are stored.
After I 'retired' from the bank in 2009( I retired early) I still
to this very day have dreams of having to go back to work
at a bank. Not necessarily Key Bank where I retired from
but any bank. I always wake up in a cold sweat after these
nightmares because in 2009 I was at my breaking point
and couldn't work at the bank any longer emotionally
because the banking industry had dramatically changed
and IMHO, not for the best especially where it concerns
people.
I can't imagine having to go back to work at any bank.
Anywho, after much much connecting all of my puzzle pieces
regarding my bank nightmares just recently
I think I've solved the meaning of the messages
and your post today has validated my conclusion

As I've shared , I believe that ALL dreams
as well as meaningful synchronicity events
are symbolic and have a very
important message to 'tell' us, especially if
the dreams are recurring and/or nightmares.
I think my soul is 'telling' me (an old teller ) that
I have a rich deposit of valuable paranormal
knowledge to withdraw especially where
it connects to keys.
One of my recent bank dreams that
I had on Aug 16, 2023 I titled Ron Robinette
Third National Bank--- Oh say can you C (See?)
I won't go into detail of the dream as it is quite lengthy
but IRL Ron ( who is White )
was an excellent salesman for Marshall's
family printing supply business.
In the dream Ron and I had both worked at the same bank
which was Third National Bank .
( IRL Ron never worked at a bank)
IRL Key Bank where I retired from started
out as Third National Bank and Trust.
Third National is where I started in 1979.
Third was bought out by Society Bank
and Society was bought by Key Bank.
I worked through all the mergers.
Here's a snippet from the dream:
"At one point Ron and I and Marshall and Ron's wife
were walking up towards the bank.
I saw Ron hurry ahead of us.
I saw that Ron had a key and was hurriedly
trying to open the bank door
and I recall wondering how he had gotten a key to the bank.
Sure enough as I walked closer to Ron,
I asked him how he got my key.
Ron handed the key over to me. It was a brass key, however
it wasn’t an old skeleton key
but it was larger than a regular key.
I recall etched on the key were the words
THIRD NATIONAL BANK."

Recall I shared that I believe that when we have
dreams of other people, those people are a
symbolic archetype of ourselves. ( the dreamer).
Sometimes the connection is just the name
of the person.
In that regard, I believe that my soul presented
Ron in the dream symbolic
of me ( my soul ) possessing powerful knowledge,
Siddhis powers. The name Ron having to do with power.
Also IRL Ron and his wife both have degrees
in archeology.
Ron's last name Robinette is also very interesting
and has connection with a bird.
Of course an American Robin has a reddish-orange breast.
Interestingly in the illustration you posted of
the purple birds they too have red breasts.
Connecting my gazillion puzzle pieces
in order to solve the puzzle,
I personally have come to the conclusion
that what's stored in my 'bank'( to which I have the key )
is the Language of the Birds which I've commented
on a gazillion times on your blog.
Your post about Bibliomancy is fascinating!
I've never heard of it before.
What's interesting is that its concept
somewhat mirrors my own.
I believe that in the paranormal 'information'
comes to us via our souls via the Universal Language
which is the Language of the Birds.
I disagree with the information I read
regarding Bibliomancy in Wiki in particular
regarding divination through
books as, and IMHO, I believe that the
Sacred Science Knowledge is Universal
and by its very nature not
found in just ONE particular book.
Because, aren't there
more than ONE species of birds?
However like the falling of books,
I do believe that the Universal Language information
'falls' in our paths as I believe
this knowledge comes both TO us and FROM us.
We don't have to go looking for it.
And last but not least and going back to the brass key in
my Robinette dream, a few months ago, I was
sharing my Robinette dream with my best friend and
out of the 'blue' I decided to look for a brass key on
Ebay. Not a brass skeleton key.
Well lo and behold guess what I found???
A brass key with this wording etched:
Society Dayton Mall.
The ebay seller live in northern Ohio,
not Dayton.
Recall , Society Bank bought out Third National Bank.
Dayton Mall is one of the branches where I worked
when I joined the float staff.
Do note that tellers do not have keys to the bank branches
IRL.
I bought the brass Society Key. I'll email you the photo.

One more interesting tidbit I just thought of.
The branch where I first started at Third National was
on the corner of two streets Troy Street and Stanley Ave.
The branch was the Troy-Stanely branch.
Marshall's family business was located on Stanley
Ave which is why their business banked at Third
as it was very close.
After writing my comments I decided to look
up the meanings of both Troy and Stanely,
and found the meanings quite interesting
especially Stanely.

Sorry for all these comments but I'm just
curious as to why you didn't
mention the reference to levitate in
Katy Perry's Dark Horse lyrics?
Levitation certainly has a very significant
connection to my puzzle pieces, being my foundation
of why I not only believe in reincarnation ( my past life
reading in1974 about an incarnation in Atlantis
which has connections to my gazillion recurring
levitation dreams starting at age 10 in 1965 and
that I still have to this very day ) but also
why I believe the why of our ( humanity collectively )
existence here.
I understand that your puzzle pieces are not the same
as mine and therefore wouldn't have the same
importance but and IMHO William, everything
is connected and we ( humanity ) all
share the same bigger picture whether
we can see that big picture or not.
In this case and again IMHO
the bigger picture being that the foundation
of this Duality Dimension is the Sacred Science
knowledge.
I personally don't believe in coincidences, but
again that's just me.
