Myth-kitty and Stevie Smith

In yesterday's post "Octopods with bright and dark eyes, and Mithrandir," I posted this image, in which a baby playing the role of Gandalf confronts not a Balrog but a kitty.

Gandalf had entered the sync stream because of the similarity of his other name Mithrandir to Mithras, and I also posted these lines:

They never let Mithrandir
Join in any randir games

This juxtaposition of a Mith-name and a kitty made me think of Philip Larkin's famous dismissal of what he called "the common myth-kitty." Then I realized that his name, Philip, was a link to the randir pun, by way of my July 2020 post "Philip as a Christmas reindeer in polyvalent perspective."

I realized I'd never read the complete quote, just lots of references to "what Philip Larkin called 'the common myth-kitty'" and such. I tried to look it up and still couldn't find the original context, but the interesting thing was that the first result for "common myth-kitty" wasn't about Philip Larkin at all but about Stevie Smith:

Perhaps being named Smith invites this sort of thing. I've lost count of how many times I've heard Mormonism punningly dismissed as "Joseph's myth." Anyway, I know absolutely nothing about Stevie Smith's work, but just three days ago Bruce Charlton posted "'Stevie' (1978) - a movie about Stevie Smith." Not long before that, he also addressed the myth-kitty, in "Tolkien's subcreated world in Not a modern 'myth'" (May 15).

William,
Part 1 of 2

And speaking of Frodo and 9 fingers and the duality of good vs evil,
the tall whites and a girl with pearl earrings,
 and the white trumpet lily and SUSAN,
 the blinding of Helios, and the rapture, song birds
tulips  and hereafters OH MY! ,
check all of  these puzzle pieces connections out.

But first the backstory:
 A couple of days ago, I scrolled Prime Video
movies, looking for something entertaining to watch.
I saw a movie, and while it didn't really get
my attention, I decided to watch it after reading the
description.
The movie is titled The Strange  Dark.

The Strange Dark is a 2026 'Indie- Sci Fi' movie
and has a bit of a quirky vibe, which I don't normally
like but 10 minutes into the movie 2 people
knock on the door of the protagonist whose
name is SUSAN.

Of course because of my 2008
Suzy dream, and my connection to the lily,
that got my attention.

Susan's husband, named Ed, is a quirky White
guy who is a numbers cryptologist working for
a company called Double Star.

Of course at that point I'm all in as far as watching
this movie because not only of the lily and twin star connection
but the numbers connection and my recent fascination
with what I've come to believe which is :
the magic square being the key to this duality
dimension.

Ed is hiding from the two people because he
stole the documents from the project they
all were working on when they were at Double
Star.

Ed had discovered that
there are three stars not two and that everything
is a triad. After Ed discovers the knowledge
he stores it all in his mind, unbeknownst to
the employees of Double Star.

 From the knowledge, Ed becomes clairvoyant.

Of course all of that got my immediate attention because
it connects to many of my puzzle pieces
including  my Law of Three puzzle
piece, but also 33 and my many and recent comments
regarding 11, 22 and 33.

At some point in the movie a young man,
who also works for the company
and whom his colleagues calls 'the kid',
comes into Susan and Ed's
house to assist the 2 people in the capture of Ed.
Note that a kid is a billy goat.
The kid's father owns the company Double Star.

This kid has a white blinding light laser  beam
type weapon which he uses to gain access to the house
and to temporarily blind Susan, Ed and the woman
from Double Star( who's name is Maria).

When I saw the Helios gun
I thought of your Nobody Is Going to die post
and the two tall whites and their laser beam.

That got my attention  because of my recent comment
regarding the WHITES and their connection
to the Sun. ( see link, google Tall Whites)

The laser gun in the movie is called a Helios.

William,
Part 2

There is also a part in the movie where
the employees resort to having to force
the information from Ed and they begin
to cut each finger off until he reveals
the information.

Ed and Susan's daughter
 Taylor, who was hiding upstairs, comes downstairs
to help after the 2 bad guys cut off one
of Ed's fingers and Taylor mentions the name Frodo.

After the movie I googled Frodo
because although Frodo was only mentioned
by Taylor and not a  big part in
the movie, I couldn't help but think that it
had a connection to my puzzle pieces.

Lo and behold I found that Frodo was a character
from the Lord of the Rings. When I saw
Fordo's connection with Gandalf who appears,
at least to me to be a tall White, I thought
.... hmm... what are the odds?

I wasn't going to share this with you William, because
you have stated about my 'long comments'
and flawed carriage returns which kinda
made me  somewhat feel that
maybe my constant presence here
on your blog  is a bit too much.

However as you know I only comment , albeit long,
if I have a puzzle piece that I think connects
with the topic. I'm not trying to get cookies.
I'm just sharing information that has been
given to me which perhaps may be of value to someone
to consider. An alternative viewpoint.

When I read WW's comment yesterday ( May24 )
 about Gandalf and Frodo on your
Octopods with bright and dark eyes, post
I was going to comment about The Strange Dark
 then but I still decided not to.
Note that I saw the movie BEFORE I read
WW's comment.

However what REALLY sparked me to comment
today ( 5/25)
was and lo and behold, and to my surprise
I just so happen to see posted
a very interesting  post on a blog
titled Season of Return about the Lily and
the Song of Songs.

 I visit Season of Return quite often
but not everyday.

Here's the new post on Season of Return
and you'll see why I was surprised.  ( link below )

The Season of Return's new post
really got my attention because finding
this article comes on the heels of The Strange
Dark and all of its symbolism which so happens
to connect to many of my puzzle pieces
especially to the protagonist
Susan and of course my 2008 Suzy dream
which is a HUGE puzzle piece of mine.

Copy and paste:

"The Rapture Flower
T. W. Tramm – (05/21/26)
In the Bible’s epic love poem, Song of Songs,
the bride is compared to a lily.."
~~~~~~~
There is also a deer connection:
Copy and paste:
“My beloved! Look! Here he comes, leaping across
the mountains, bounding over the hills. My beloved
is like a  *** gazelle or a young stag. Look!
There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattice.
My beloved speaks and says to me,
‘Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come
away’” (vv.8–10). "
~~~~~~~
...also  this regarding Solomon's Temple:
Note in my Where is my Horn? dream and the
gazillion hours of research it was the horn dream
which led me to Solomon's Temple
and of course the Third Temple and of course the Golden Gates.

Copy and paste:
"Solomon’s Temple, an architectural representation
of the ultimate Temple, the Church, was
decorated with ***lily motifs.

The tops of the pillars were shaped like lilies, and the huge bronze
basin used for ceremonial purification had
a brim shaped like a lily blossom (1 Cor. 3:16; 1 Kings
7:21, 22; 2 Chron. 4:5).

and this:
"When do lilies bloom in Israel?
The lily mentioned in Song of Songs,
thought to be the rare Lilium candidum, or Madonna lily,
 puts forth flowers from ***May to mid-June.
~~~~~~~
What's the odds???
William,
Oops... I forgot to add a few more important puzzle
pieces connection. Note Ed's mentions 'SIX people
in the room. ( see trailer in the Strange Dark
link ) . Of course my recent 15/51 and the Magical
Square of the Sun and the number 6 comments
came to my mind.
Also note that Ed wears a yellow, red and blue-green
Lego's watch. The face of the watch is yellow.
There is also a file of Ed, presumably his
personal file information from his employer.
The file appears to be from a psychologist
of some sort because of Ed's unexplainable
strange behavior. Although
the file is shown quickly both in the movie
and in this trailer ( abt marker 1:07-1:10),
the name on Ed's file doctor is Dr. Debra Basset.
When I saw the name Debra, although it
was shown briefly, I stopped
the video so as to make sure I saw it
right.
Back in the 1950's and even in the Bible,
the name was spelled Deborah.
My RA spelling is somewhat different.
RA's tears perhaps?
