During the credits, the screen showed vintage (1950s-looking) black-and-white footage of flying saucers flying around, and the 1969 Neil Diamond song “Sweet Caroline” was playing. This seemed to go on for a very long time, and by the time I woke up, with the credits still unfinished, the song had imperceptibly morphed into “Caroline” (2008) by Old Crow Medicine Show.
I’d never noticed how much those two songs have in common. Where one has “Sweet Caroline, good times never seemed so good,” the other has “Oh, Caroline, heartbroken hard times never got us down.” One has “hands touching hands,” and the other has “hand in hand.”
I’m not too familiar with the lyrics of the OCMS song, and looking them up later, I was surprised to discover the line “I’ll be Ozzie Smith.” The reference is apparently to a baseball player, but as it happens one of the main characters in Last Call by Tim Powers, which I am currently reading, is a poker player who is also called Ozzie Smith.
When I woke up from the dream, my wife was watching a movie on TV. The Hurt Locker, I think. The first thing I saw when I woke up was Jeremy Renner in a supermarket, with the camera focused on a shelf of Lucky Charms cereal boxes. The scene then cut to dead leaves falling. Not the first time sugary cereals have been juxtaposed with autumn leaves around these parts. See for example “Humpty Dumpty: After the Fall.”
Possibly relevant: Carrie can be a nickname for Caroline, and there is a historical figure named Caroline Yale, known for her work in the field of deaf education and famous enough to have a crater on Venus named after her.

William,
And yet again, everything is connected?
Copy and paste;
"The name Ozzie, primarily a diminutive,
can be traced back to multiple origins,
including Scandinavian, British, and Norse roots.
It generally signifies *****"divine bear," "bear god,"****
or "God's power".
It's often a shortened form of names
like Oswald, Osborne, or****** Oscar.*****
~~~~~~~~~
BR's again, no?
Interestingly I have puzzle pieces which connects
to all three of those names.
First one is Oswald. Recall I first contacted
you in Oct of 2021 after my Tulips dream and my research
of Oswald Wirth which led me to your Magician's Table
Blog.
2. Osborne has a personal connection to a neighbor who
recently committed suicide April 10 of this year.
Nice looking young man, with a wife and 2 young
boys and his mother is still living. Very sad.
Marshall and I are still in shock.
3. Of course the third connecting puzzle piece is Oscar.
Copy and paste from Microsoft Co-pilot answer to my
question : is Ozzie also Oscar?:
"Yes, Ozzie can be a nickname for the name Oscar.
Ozzie is a common diminutive or nickname,
often used for individuals named Oscar.
For example, Oscar "Ozzie" Lusth
is a well-known reality show contestant.
Additionally, Oscar "Ozzie" Cadena was a record producer.
The name Ozzie is also used as a given name
in its own right, or as a nickname for other names
like Oswald or Osborne."
~~~~~~
Also the word/name Carrie as a nickname or diminutive
of Caroline as in "Carry" that Weight,
which has been in the sync stream of late along with
Golden Slumbers. Which, weren't you 'slumbering' when
you had the Carrie dream?
And last but not least, it seems, at least to me,
that maybe the message in your Caroline dream is one of
having to do with hands since touching and holding hands
are in the lyrics of both the Caroline songs
by Neil Diamond and the Old Crow Medicine Show.
You yourself pointed out that connection.
Everything is connected, no?
Ocean - Greatest Hits - Put Your Hand In The Hand
( note the blue-green ) Also and speaking of Ocean
didn't WW recently mention a connection
to Ocean's 11 and Tess?

Debbie, your list of Ozzie names reminds me of a story my sister wrote in childhood, where the characters were named Osbert, Oswald, Egbert, and Egwald. This proved so confusing that halfway through the story the author herself lost track of who was who, leading us to dub the story “Scrambled Egs.”
Debbie, I read your comment while in a coffee shop, and the background music they were playing included the line “You don’t have to carry that weight.”

I just now checked Synlogos and found a link with the title “Last Call.”

William,
Very interesting indeed.
IMO, those precise connections of those
particular 3 names to my puzzle pieces
are not a coincidence as I certainly would not
have known that the name Ozzie had any connections
to Osborne and Oskar and to Bear.(BR ).
Recall I mentioned that I have two BR's in my name.
As stated many times, I believe that the paranormal
'finds us' because there is something our soul
needs for us to learn ( or teach ) or heed.
I believe that the paranormal experiences given to us
are not complicated or logical
or doubtful or having
tension or fear and if it becomes any one of those things, it's
not from the soul. In other words, it's not our truth,
IMHO.
That's not saying that we don't have to work
and research to find the meaning i.e. the big picture
as I believe we absolutely are required to do
by exploring a vast spectrum of ideologies as we must
earn the knowledge, and IMHO, that knowledge
quest takes many many incarnations in many skins and
in many cultures and walking miles in other's shoes
and paying the dues.
But from all that effort, the reward is well worth it
as I believe that wholeness ( aka enlightenment )
means that we no longer are required to incarnate/incarcerate
into this bitter sea but instead earn our place
with the Divine.
Which for the soul, is Heaven.;-))
IMHO, of course.
P. S.Thank you for helping me connect several
of my puzzle pieces
including the the Ocean song Put Your Hand in the Hand.
I do recall that song from 1971 but I haven't heard
it for years and never would have discovered it
again if it wasn't for your post .
. EL-VIS also did a
cover for that song as well.
Interestingly while researching the song and according
to Wiki, the songwriter Gene MacLellan, committed suicide
which ( and as I shared ) the Osborne connection in the 3
names was Marshall's and my neighbor
as our Osborne committed suicide.

William,
I posted my comment before seeing you wrote this:
"Debbie, I read your comment while in a coffee shop,
and the background music they were playing included
the line “You don’t have to carry that weight.”
~~~~~~~
I think you just proved my point regarding what I
just wrote about (and is my belief )
that paranormal experiences ' finds us'.
Caroline means "Strong, Free Woman/ Man, Song of Happiness", depending on the language. We covered Free Man before with my Carrie Ball incident.
My own view, unsurprisingly, is this is a pretty direct link between my dream this morning of the the very muscular blonde woman and your dream just a little while later of the Caroline songs. In other words, Alayna/ Elena in my dream this morning is the same individual as Caroline in this dream. A Strong Free Woman.
The song "Sweet Caroline" further reinforces this, I believe. As you called out, there is this mention of "Good Times". In my 2020 words, in relation to the Rose Stone, there was the phrase "Good times to roll!", as a reference to the song by the Cars and also to Daniel's Stone cut from the mountain. So, good times associated with the Ball (Carrie or Caroline Ball) or Stone and the Beings communicating with it.
This would get to the reference of "hands touching hands". I had compared the connection or linking of the Ithil and Rose Stones specifically to that of a handshake. We've also explore LDS endowment symbolism which fully utilizes "hands touching hands". Pretty direct reference here, I think.
Also of interest is the fact that Sweet Caroline is the traditional song of the Boston Red Sox, played during the eighth inning. When I was living in Boston while going to grad school, and experienced this first hand. A team associated with wearing red foot coverings connected to this song is pretty interesting given the stone/ shoe symbolism, particularly red shoes.
In addition, the Red Sox play at Fenway Park. Fenway is a word that has something to do with a Swamp or Marsh ("Path through a Marsh" and "Marsh Land"). Fenway is also famous for its giant wall out in left field known as the Green Monster. A huge Green Monster situated in a Swamp/ Marsh has pretty substantial Shrek/ Ogre vibes, if you ask me. The fact that the Green Monster is literally a Wall also seems to once again tie that symbol to Humpty Dumpty. And I notice you brought up Humpty Dumpty here in this post again based on what you saw as you woke up from the dream.
Sorry, typing too fast and in addition to my usual typos left out part of a sentence in the 5th paragraph, which should have read: "When I was living in Boston while going to grad school, I went to several Red Sox games and experienced this first hand."
Like you, I didn't know too much (actually, anything) about the Old Crow Medicine Show song. Never heard it. The lyrics are over the top direct hits, though, in looking at them just now. Like, a lot of them.
To cut off my usually too long comments, I will just call out one of these, though, having to do with the Rose Stone given my specific mention of it in my earlier comment above and connections with Caroline.
You mention the Ozzy Smith line. In saying that, he says Caroline will be his wife named Sierra:
"I'll be Ozzy Smith you be Sierra my wife."
I looked up Sierra. Several translations give it specifically as "Saw-toothed Mountains" (a Spanish word from the Latin "Serra", meaning Saw or Saw-toothed range, referring to jagged peaks).
In my story, the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho is where the Rose Stone was recovered from back in the spring of 2020.
That Sierra line is strange, since as far as I can tell Ozzie Smith's only wife was Ethel Denise Jackson.
I of course noticed the "St. Clare" call-out in the first line, too.
William,
The reason why I've made a connection to Carry
( as in Carry that Weight) as opposed to exploring
the meaning of Caroline, is because this is your second Carrie
sync. The other one was just the other day, with Cary Yale
and now another Caroline sync which 'coincidently'
the name Carrie is a nickname of.
For me that's how I decide which road ( out of many )
to go down when trying to research to decipher my puzzle pieces.
In other words, and in this case, does Caroline mean
this? copy and paste:
"The name Caroline has its roots in the Germanic
name Charles, meaning "free man" or "man".
It evolved from the Latin Carolus, which is derived
from the Old High German karl.
The name was popularized in France
and subsequently spread to other parts of Europe
and the English-speaking world".
~~~~~
Or, does it mean Carry( Carrie ) as in carry that weight?
If I had the same syncs, especially happening
within a few days of each other, I would choose the latter
because, IMO the sync fairies made it very obvious
which way to go when
you heard the ' carry the weight' message again
'coincidently' in a song at the coffee shop.
I don't think it was a coincidence
especially given the lyrics that you posted
to the song : Calling Out for You.
Of course this is all in my opinion, and as I shared
I believe that paranormal experiences finds us.

William,
I found this live performance with Paul McCartney singing
Golden Slumbers/ Carry that Weight/ The End
at the Royal Albert Hall in 1997.
Eric Clapton , Phil Collins and George Martin, among others,
join Paul on stage.
Interestingly ( but not surprising, at least to me )
a Black choir ( The London Community Gospel Choir )
singing the chorus : Boy you're going
to carry that weight a long time.

Since this is the most recent post with mention of any Tim: I spent Sunday evening with my friend Tod, and one of the movies we watched was the Pokémon spinoff, Detective Pikachu. When it comes to the name-game thing I'm not much for detail, so just as well it was simple here. The protagonist is Tim Goodman, who ventures to Ryme City and reluctantly pairs up with the titular yellow rat in hopes of finding his father, Harry. (Additionally, Wiki says one song released for the movie is called "Carry On".)

Hurt Locker... huh. IMDb says it came out in cinemas here on February 4, 2010, which sounds about right in my recollection; I saw it roughly a month later, as part of a birthday outing. Enjoyed the movie for what it was though wouldn't have chosen it myself, and several other factors (mostly related to mental health) meant I wasn't a happy gondola that day anyway, linking forward to my comments on that Humpty Dumpty post.
Out in the city yesterday, I ducked into Dymocks (local bookshop chain) to get a gift card for my Dad. Pausing to check out the new releases and sales tables at the front of the shop, the upper book in pic related caught my eye; I took a photo before noticing the lower so had to reshoot.

Oh, and as you mentioned Venus, I figured it was worth linking that one Warframe song here too. For the uninitiated, "We All Lift Together" is the theme for Fortuna, a debt colony on a technologically-cooled Venus. (Come to think of it, "lift" can be a synonym of "carry".)
