One great movie - but that is one more than most auteurs achieve.
Spinal Tap is one of only three movies I went back to see again at the cinema within a couple of weeks (the others were Blade Runner and Local Hero).
I'm kidding, partly - although ST is first rate of its kind.
You probably mean that Mormon favourite Princess Bride; and I would include Harry met Sally as maybe the best Rom Com I've ever seen. (At least) three movies that are among the very best of their kind - surely a genius of his craft.
This Is Spinal Tap is the pinnacle of cinematic achievement, the Citizen Kane of movies, but The Princess Bride is also excellent. (Just because it's a Mormon article of faith doesn't mean it's not objectively true!) I've never seen When Harry Met Sally.

I don't know if you knew this, but Rob Reiner's son Nick
had a huge drug addiction.
I read where Rob and Nick collab'ed on a
2016 movie titled Being Charlie, based
on Nick's addiction. I found the full movie on youtube
and decided to watch it. ( I've never seen
the movie before ).
Lo and behold there are a few very subtle signs
in the movie about knives and swords.
In the movie at marker/frame starting at 55:09
as Eva ( Charlie( Nick's girlfriend) enters the beach
house. As they go through the doorway there
is a Eight Point Star shadow on the floor.
Charlie shows her around the house and says:
" Gotta to stab a lot of people with fake swords
to get this'.
Also starting about marker 50:01 there is
a short scene in a restaurant where Charlie's
father ( portraying Rob Reiner )
interacts with another diner with butter knives
(simulating a sword battle ).
Food for thought indeed.
Interesting how everything connects and hidden
in plain sigh. At least IMHO.
The sync fairies never disappoint.

My brother maintains that "The Princess Bride" is the finest film ever produced. I'm not absolutely certain i agree, but i more than sympathize with his affection for it. I consider not liking that movie to be... Inconceivable!
I will freely admit that i'm not especially familiar with the rest of Mr. Reiner's filmography. Perhaps i should change that.
