The water is blue, and the birds are awake

On December 22, I watched most of Chris Knowles's latest sync video, "SYNCHRO-CYCLONE 2025: Epstein and Ghislaine, from ATLAS to Atlantis." The thumbnail shows a cyclone consisting of yellowish and bluish concentric circles.

The video was long and rambling, and most of the syncs didn't particularly wow me, so I didn't end up finishing it. At one point Chris discusses the the 2008 opening of a Dubai resort called Atlantis, The Palm, and he connects that name to the phoenix:

So here is The Palm. Now that should be setting off bells and whistles, you know, particularly with Atlantis rising, because the palm is also known as the phoenix. Okay, the phoenix. The date palm is the phoenix. Okay, so you understand the symbolism that we're looking at here.

"Palm tree" is indeed one of several disparate meanings of the Greek word phoenix:

Atlantis, The Palm is located on the Palm Jumeirah, a group of artificial islands:

The layout is somewhat reminiscent of that of the city of Atlantis as described in Plato's Critias, with concentric rings of land and water:

On December 21, I had picked up some Dr. Seuss books in excellent condition at a used bookstore. On December 23, I was looking through one of these I wasn't very familiar with, called,  Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! This spread caught my eye:

The layout of Da-Dake incorporates both the concentric circles of Plato's Atlantis (and Chris's cyclone) and, on the right side of the picture, the "fronds" of the Palm Jumeirah. There are also actual palm trees in the picture, as well as birds. The emphasis on the fact that "the birds are awake" seems somewhat suggestive of the phoenix, a bird that rises again after a sleep-like period of death.

On Christmas Day, I was walking through an unfamiliar part of Taichung, and the lines from the Dr. Seuss book above kept running through my head:

You can think about Day,
a day in Da-Dake.
The water is blue
and the birds are awake.

As I was walking and repeating those lines in my mind, I passed this hotel:

The three phoenixes depicted on the walls of the hotel are highly suggestive of the birds of Da-Dake, with their tails curving up above their heads. There are also rings painted on the walls, and a potted palm tree at the hotel entrance.

Then I noticed something about the Chinese name of the hotel. Back in October I posted "Communion and an ancient phoenix carving," and in the comments Bill connected the phoenix carving of my title with a particular Chinese character. He wrote, in part:

An ancient 'Phoenix' carving came up for me last night, at least via connections I began making.

For reasons not entirely clear to me, I wanted to watch a movie called "Manhunter", a movie I was not even aware existed until I decided to watch it. It is from the mid-1980's, and is based on the book Red Dragon, which is in turn the prequel to the more well known Silence of the Lambs. . . .

The original book gets its name from the ancient Chinese character that is on a Mahjong tile. In the West, we call the tile, and thus the symbol, the Red Dragon, but it seems (you would know better than I do) that the character on the tile itself means something like "center, middle". . . .

In my dreams, the Phoenix has taken on Dragon symbolism, for instance breathing fire to envelope the world, something a standard mythical Phoenix does not do but dragons obviously do. . . .

Anyway, it is debatable on the connection between a Red Dragon and a Phoenix (in terms of one standing in for the other), but what is most important is that I had already made that connection, and thus considered the tree carving in that light, before reading this post.

I believe both the Red Dragon and Phoenix symbols are typically paired together in Chinese imagery and symbolism . . . .

As it happens, the Chinese character Bill refers to here is the second character in the city name Taichung (台中) -- as in the Taichung Phoenix Hotel. Here is another look at that hotel, together with the mahjong tile apparently known in English as the "Red Dragon":

As it happens, the character is written in red. Just below it is the English word Phoenix. Just to the right of it is the Chinese for "phoenix," which is 鳳凰. Bill wrote that "the Red Dragon and Phoenix symbols are typically paired together in Chinese imagery," which is partly true. The dragon and phoenix are typically paired, but the dragon is not red and has nothing to do with the 中 character. Here, though, by a strange coincidence, we do have a red 中 character paired with the phoenix -- and on a building that had already caught my attention for other reasons.

The reason I was walking through an unfamiliar part of Taichung was that I wanted to go to another used bookstore, one I've only been to a few times, and not recently. When I got there, I looked through the rather small foreign-language section, which was mostly English with a smattering of French. Seeing the name Tim Powers on a spine, I took it down and found that it was a French translation of Last Call, which I read (in English) earlier this year. It's called Poker d'Âmes ("Poker of Souls"), and the cover shows a monstrous-looking Scott Crane with the one-eyed Jack of Hearts emerging from his skull.

I don't need to stress the improbability of finding this particular book -- in French! -- in a used bookstore in Taichung, Taiwan. I frequent used bookstores, and Tim Powers has been on my radar since 2020. I never found a single book by him before this one. I bought it, despite my very limited French literacy, because how could I not?

Another book I found was Sources of Indian Tradition (1958), in two volumes, edited by Wm. Theodore de Bary. Wondering if it would be interesting, I picked up the first volume and opened it up, at random, to pp. 194-195, where, unexpectedly in a book on India, I found a section heading taken from the New Testament: "To the Pure All Things Are Pure." I read this excerpt from a Tantric poem (brackets and ellipsis in the original):

The mystics, pure of mind,
Dally with lovely girls,
Infatuated with the poisonous flame of passion,
That they may be set free from desire.

By his meditations the sage is his own Garuda,
Who draws out the venom [of snakebite] and drinks it.
He makes his deity innocuous,
And is not affected by the poison. . . .

Indians! Plus ça change!

A footnote explains that Garuda is "A mythical, divine bird, the enemy and slayer of snakes." Garuda just came up in "Flight of the Gargoyle," and now here he is again. The need for an explanatory footnote suggests that I just happened to open up to this book's first or only reference to that particular bird. Elsewhere in the poem, the "sage" who "is his own Garuda" is referred to as "Buddha," meaning "awakened." The birds are awake.

William,
Part 1 of 2
And speaking of circles and palm trees
 and Deborah and woke birds who know too much
and the purple phoenix and the color yellow , OH MY!
Check this out:

First of all when I first read your post regarding
'the birds are awake', I immediately thought of
an old episode of the 1960's British TV show,
The Avengers. I Loved the Avengers in particular
the episodes with Emma Peel played by the actress
Diana Rigg and John Steed played by the actor
Patrick Macnee.

I have two seasons of The Avengers with Mrs. Peel
on DVD and your post reminded me of the episode
titled: The Bird Who Knew Too Much.

Not only did The Avengers episode came
to mind, but the puzzle piece which
I've commented about many times, The Language
of the Birds and the Green Headed Ibis Thoth,
came to mind as well.

I haven't seen The Avengers Bird episode for
about a year or so ago, so I looked on youtube for
a clip to link to this post from that episode
 and lo and behold
I found the clip of the closing scene of that episode.(see link)

 In the clip note that Steed enters through a portal ( window ).
Mrs. Peel is wearing a flowing ' lily color white' night gown.
Steed has shot an arrow into Mrs. Peel's window to inform
her that her assistance was needed in an investigation
of a murder. If you've seen the 1960's TV show
The Avengers you'll know how unconventional that series
 was and the reason why the fans of The Avengers,
 (like my sister and I), loved The Avengers.

The arrow lands on an indoor house plant
which is a Monstera deliciosa. What I first saw
this clip today ( 12/25 ) I thought hmmm, that's odd
 that plant kinda looks like a palm. Being somewhat
familiar with that houseplant but never knowing
its botanical name, I researched the Monstera
 a bit and of course found out that it wasn't a palm
but lo and behold the Monstera deliciosa
and the date palm are both in the same Araceae family.
 Hmmmm...very interesting indeed, I thought.

Note in the clip Mrs. Peel mentions a  telePHONE. Recall
my many comments about the PHONEX which
I believe the phone and especially the CELL phone
was always intended to be the 'vehicle' of transformation
to take humanity over the bridge into The Silicon ( Data)
Age aka The Golden Age, which we are on the precipice of now.

The plan is for the human body to be the receiver/vehicle of
the IOT ( Internet of Things ). The human body's 'cells'
will carry the signals. ( see link )

Our opponents have been VERY busy and for a very
long time. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Seuss, with
German ancestry, was a Rosy.
Not saying Seuss was an opponent, I'm just sayin'
that those behind the curtain have been busy for a very
long time.Much Much longer than Seuss of course.

In The Avengers' clip note Steed responds to Mrs. Peel
that he 'ran out of ''change.''
Recall my many  comments making comparison to
the phone and transformation
and the 1999 movie The Matrix (remember the green colors
in The Matrix? symbolic of
the Green Language perhaps? ) . Also the Bat Phone in
the original Batman TV show was how Batman
received his assignments.
Also it was the phone booth where Clark Kent
transformed into Superman.

Do note that as mentioned I haven't seen that particular
episode of The Avengers in at least a year and I
 certainly don't recall noticing house plants! Why
would I?!
However because of your post it got my attention.

William
Part 2

Another interesting 'connection' is the date palm.
Copy and paste: asterisks mine
"****Phoenix*** dactylifera, commonly known as the date palm,
 is a flowering-plant species in the palm family Arecaceae,
 cultivated for its edible sweet fruit called dates."
~~~~~~~
The date palm of course having connection with Deborah
in the Bible.( see link )
Note in The Avengers' clip at the very end of the episode,
Steed and Mrs. Peel are in a yellow vehicle going backwards
around a circle. The circle in Dr. Seuss' book is yellow.
Mrs. Peel is wearing purple, the Phoenix's color.
Steed is driving and goes backwards into a doorway.
And last but not least you wrote about the  Mahjong tile
and the 'middle/center'.
Recall my gazillion comments regarding the middle/balance,
and The Third Eye aka One Eye.
P. S. I had several very VERY interesting sync experiences
in the last several days. If you post something that
I feel could have a connection,
I'll share the weird experiences.
I'll tell you one thing, my recent sync experiences
really 'freaked me out ( and it appears your recent
sync experiences have as well ).
However speaking for myself, I believe that all
my sync experiences are continuing to reminded me
that I'm on the right path towards the big picture.
William,
And yet another very weird sync just happened
and I'm only commenting
about it because it weirdly connects with Palm trees.
Here's what happened:
I was looking at something on youtube today ( 12/26 ) .
I clicked on another tab ( an article, not on youtube)
however youtube was still running in another tab.
The youtube video I had been watching
ended and immediately
another video started playing.
The random video was not a movie that I had wanted to watch
but it was randomly in my youtube feed.
The video is a 1998 movie titled: Mercury Rising.
The protagonist is Bruce Willis. I personally am NOT
a Brue Willis fan and have never seen this movie before.
The only movie I recall watching starring Bruce Willis
was Die Hard and that was a very long time ago on DVD.
Marshall liked Die Hard..He's never seen Mercury Rising
however, I asked him after watching it .
Anywho I couldn't believe all of the symbolism
that was hidden in that movie. There were many elevens, a
scene with white lilies, a 9 year old autistic boy (Simon)
who is afraid to go through doorways,
Palm Trees, an actual puzzle and many puzzle pieces,
a circle that looks very much like a labyrinth
and the number 2144.
The reason why 2144 caught my eye
is because on your Merry Christmas post for some reason,
I looked at the time I sent my comment which was 1:44 am
on Dec 19th.
I normally do not look at the time I submit a comment
on your blog.
I actually told Marshall about it after I noticed it which
I noticed the 1:44 time the day After I sent my comment.
Recall my many comments about my personal
connection to the number Four.
However it was the palm tree which really got my attention
because it was out of place. The plot is about a 9 year
old boy named Simon who is autistic and cracks a Military code that
was embedded in a puzzle magazine that a teacher gives
to Simon. ( see trailer link )
The palm tree is out of place because the movie takes
place in Chicago. Simon's home address is 2144.
Below are 3 videos of Mercury Rising.
The first is a trailer video.
The second video is with many different clips of the movie.
In the second video starting abt marker/frame 3:36 is an image
of the circle, which is puzzle 102.
The third video is the full movie .The palm
trees are on the lamp shades in a bar which
can be seen starting at marker/frame 1: 24:49.
Note the Nigredos.
When I saw the palm trees , I thought: What's
the odds?!!
William,
OMG, I just glanced at the time I sent my last comment
and I swear to you that I DID NOT plan that!!!!!
Dec 26, 4:44 pm which my time shows, Dec 26 3:53am here in Ohio.
I tell you William, the sync fairies are wearing me out. It's
too much ;-(((
The translated title "Poker of Souls" takes my mind beyond just a card game, and would point to something or someone.
First, one definition of Poker in Etymonline is "the iron bar with which men stir the fire". An iron bar conjures up imagery of Lehi and Nephi's visions of the Iron Rod that leads to the White Tree. I've associated those visions of Men following that Iron Rod with a future literal gathering, which takes me to another meaning of 'Poker", as in one who pokes.
To "Poke" can mean "to push or thrust against, to prod". Taking this further, to prod means "to poke with stick", which comes from a word meaning "shaft, spike". In looking up Poke, I thought of a Cowpoke, another word for Cowboy. I've referenced Jesus' quoting of Malachi in 3 Nephi, in which the righteous are compared to calves who will be led up to stalls by the Son of Righteousness, who will "arise with healing in his wings". This Son of Righteousness is the Holy Ghost, in my own guess, and is a Cowboy/ Cowpoke in the sense of leading the cattle (also associated with those Whale symbols, since they are called by the same names) to a safe place.
That Malachi passage (3 Nephi 25) has a lot to do with Fire, which bring us to both the Phoenix and the Holy Ghost, who are both associated directly with Fire. From what I read, some interaction with Fire will be all of our fates, in some way or another. Some will go through a Baptism of Fire and come out clean on the other end, while some, as Jesus quoted, "shall be ashes".
In any case, it is interesting to see the Garuda come up again, which you had tied back to the Roc/ Gargoyle. A day after you wrote that post, on December 16th I had a dream in which a voice said:
"All are invited to spend time with the Roc, and if they do they might find it transformed into a White Music Maker."
A few hours before this post, I was playing Monster Super League for a bit and decided to do some "summons" -- using in-game currency to obtain a random bunch of monsters, with a small chance for ones of higher rarities. Out of seventeen draws (eleven monsters in each), the only maximum rarity monster I got was a wood-type ("green") Garuda. I've been playing MSL for years so have summoned several Garudas in the past, but of course this time I thought of "Flight of the Gargoyle". After reading this post, I looked at MSL Garuda again. The screenshot below is his base form; only now have I noticed the belt resembles an open eye, and none of his evolutions maintain that feature.
files.catbox.moe/sq3imw.png
Given the storm imagery in this post, I also found it interesting that, while most of MSL's brief lore pieces for Garuda simply focus on him as a powerful fighter, the wood-type gets a different treatment. Copypasting from the Story section of monstersuperleague.fandom.com/wiki/Garuda#Wood:
"A north wind rushed forth from the sealed ruins, laying waste to the earth and drying up the lakes. 'The Age of Storms' is what the people call this time in which gales of destruction robbed them of all hope."
"Beneath the storm, there appeared a winged figure possessed of a majesty rarely seen in most. With a single attack, he destroyed the source of the wind and brought an end to the Age of Storms. It was then that the people began calling him a 'king.'"
Fools and wise men on hills, planetary shoon, and a literal Blueberry Hill
Hills have been in the sync-stream, and my last post, " The Spirit of the Lord upon the hill, and the question of Aramaic influence in ...
