Gross Gaur

I dreamt that a very large man walked into the lobby of my school. He was maybe six foot six and looked like he weighed well over 400 pounds. He was wearing a heavy parka with a hood, gloves, a medical mask, and dark glasses. So completely was every bit of his face and body covered that he might have been the Invisible Man out of the H. G. Wells novel.

“My name is Gross Gaur,” he said, pronouncing the last name to rhyme with flower. “I wired a payment to you and would like a receipt.”

I had no idea who this person was or what kind of payment he had wired. The father or grandfather of one of our students, perhaps, paying their tuition? I instructed my assistant to “check this gentleman’s payment information and give him a receipt,” and then I woke up.

It’s natural to interpret Gross as a reference to the man’s large size, but it could also mean the number 144, suggesting the original number of Elves in Tolkien or the 144,000 Israelites in Revelation.

A gaur is a type of wild ox, which fits right in with the Buffalo/Cowtown sync thread. In the Old Testament, 12 oxen representing the Tribes of Israel support a large basin called “the molten sea.” So these oxen are beneath the “sea,” as in “Cowtown,” and expanding the 12 to 144 seems natural.

On the other hand, gaur is also Elvish for “werewolf.” Just the other day I read in The Silmarillion how

Sauron brought werewolves, fell beasts inhabited by dreadful spirits that he had imprisoned in their bodies.

These were wolves in appearance but something quite different inside. In the same way, Gross Gaur appeared to be human but, as nothing of his face or body was visible, he might have been something quite different under the clothing.

The Elvish gaur is indirectly tied to gross, too. Gaur first appeared in Tolkien’s writing as part of the compound word Gaurhoth. The second element, hoth, means “host, horde.” The Elvish word host, coincidentally the same as the English translation of hoth, means “gross (144).”

Note added: Searching Google for "gross gaur" (in quotes) returns exactly one hit: a 2018 Basque-language article about actor Michael Gross and his then-new movie Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell. (Apparently, gaur is the Basque word for "today.") I checked Wikipedia for that movie's release date, already knowing what I was going to find:

Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell is a 2018 direct-to-video horror sci-fi film directed by Don Michael Paul. It is the sixth film in the Tremors series of monster films. The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray, as well as on Netflix on May 1, 2018.

Today, the date of the dream and of this post, is May 1, 2025.

Michael Gross in his Tremors role of Burt Gummer made a brief sync-stream appearance back in 2021; see "Lots of little signs."

William,
Because the date May 1, ' coincidently' has connections
to the date of your dream,
I think the date May1perhaps
is an important part of the clue of the message.

I found this information about Beltane interesting, because
it has 'cow' connections.
copy and paste ( asterisks mine )
"Beltane is mentioned in the earliest Irish literature
and is associated with important events in Irish mythology.

Also known as Cétshamhain ('first of summer'),
it marked the beginning of summer and was when
**** cattle were driven out to the summer pastures.***

Rituals were performed to**** protect cattle, people and
***crops, and to encourage growth***

. Special bonfires were kindled, whose flames,
smoke and ashes were deemed to have
protective powers.

The people and their cattle would walk around
or between bonfires, and sometimes leap over the flames
or embers.

Doors, windows, byres and livestock would be decorated
with *****yellow May flowers****, perhaps because
they evoked fire.

In parts of Ireland, people would make a May Bush:
typically a thorn bush or branch decorated with flowers,
ribbons, bright shells and rushlights.

Holy wells were also visited, while Beltane dew
was thought to bring beauty and maintain youthfulness.

Many of these customs were part of May Day or
Midsummer festivals in parts of Great Britain and Europe."
~~~~~~
You wrote: “My name is Gross Gaur,” he said,
pronouncing the last name to rhyme with ***flower."
~~~~
Interesting yet another 'yellow' connection and yellow
flowers ( Dandy Lions perhaps? )

I also found this interesting,
copy and paste:
Beltane is proposed to derive from a proto-Celtic
*belo-te(p)niâ, meaning 'bright fire'.
The element *belo- might be cognate with the English
word bale (as in bale-fire) meaning 'white',
'bright' or ***'shining'.***
~~~~~
Interestingly you made reference to
Yeats and Michael Robartes.
Copy and paste:
"The name Robert, of German origin, means "bright fame."
It's a compound of "hrod" (fame, glory) and "berht"
(bright, ****shining***).
The name has a strong historical presence,
particularly in Europe, and is associated with various figures,
including royalty.****
Hmmmmm.... what's the odds??
I initially misread gaur as guar, a common creature in Morrowind. Despite appearances, it's basically the Dunmers' closest analogue to oxen.
en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Guar
The Wiki page for that Tremors movie notes its production company as Universal 1440 Entertainment. A werewolf movie is the second entry listed in its filmography below.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Pictures_Home_Entertainment#Universal_1440_Entertainment
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
Ah, that must be where guar gum comes from!
How did I miss that Universal 1440 Entertainment? I actually thought about doing a Ctrl-F for 144 on the movie's Wikipedia page but decided it wasn't necessary, since the movie already had a strong Gross connection.
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
Another meaning of gross is "disgusting." Back in 2018 I posted about an error involving the word disgusting in the context of reading a horror novel about werewolves. (The novel is not named in the post, but it was The Wolfen by Whitley Striever.)
https://narrowdesert.wordpress.com/2018/09/16/the-influence-of-adjacent-lines-of-text/
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
That's a typo for Strieber, in case that's not obvious.
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
The etymology of gaur (the ox species) is that it comes from Hindi and Sanskrit words meaning "fair, white" -- which is odd, since the gaur is normally dark brown in color. Etymologically, anyway, it is a "white ox."
When I searched this blog for 144 (a gross), the first post that came up was this one:
https://narrowdesert.blogspot.com/2024/05/the-96-48-and-white-bull.html
It connects the gross (96 + 48 = 144) with the imagery of a white bull, and with a white SUV. The white SUV is then linked to the white Volkswagen Rabbit in the 2018 movie Under the Silver Lake -- so once again bovines are connected with the idea of being underwater.
Following the trail of grosses also led me to this post:
https://narrowdesert.blogspot.com/2023/11/one-and-forty-four.html
That post mentions something that I had forgotten, but that may be relevant to the "more George than Jones" thing:
"One of the things Tim said in my first Tim dream was that George [McCaffrey, a character in an Iris Murdoch novel] was me, that I was to see this character as representing myself -- not very flattering, as George is portrayed as a spiteful putz with no real redeeming qualities."
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
The Gross character in Tremors is named Gummer, which sounds like it would be a type of elf in one of WG’s video games.
Wandering Gondola,
I clicked on William's link to his 2023 post:
One and Forty Four
and found this question you addressed to me :
"Wandering Gondola said...
Debbie, I'm not familiar with the works
of the other three,
but I don't recall Plato ever writing about a "new" Atlantis
... Or have I misunderstood something?
~~~~~~~
I don't know why I didn't respond to you at the time,
but in my all of my research especially
after 'coincidently' stumbling
upon a hard cover book I found in 2003 in a book store
way way up on top of a book shelf ( which the clerk had
to get a ladder to reach) in hippie Yellow Springs Ohio.

I don't know why I wanted the book, as there
was nothing on the spine of the book to indicate
its content.
The book is titled: Mystic Americanism ( see link)

Here is a Microsoft co-pilot summary about Dee and Plato:
copy and paste:
"While both Plato's "Atlantis" and Francis Bacon's "New Atlantis"
are fictional islands,
they share a connection through their influence
on Renaissance thought and exploration,
with potential indirect ties to figures like John Dee.
Plato's Atlantis, a legendary island civilization,
appeared in his works "Timaeus" and "Critias".

Bacon's "New Atlantis,"
a utopian society based on scientific research
and knowledge, was inspired by Plato's Atlantis and served
as a vision for a more scientific future

. According to The Francis Bacon Society, it opens
with a ship lost at sea,
finding a mysterious island and explaining
the customs of its inhabitants,
alluding to the mysteries of the sea
and the allure of the unknown. "
~~~~~~~
I didn't read Mystic Americanism in 2003,
because quite frankly I didn't understand it at that time
so I put it away in my closet.
However as the years and dreams progressed and I
acquired a gazillion other puzzle pieces through dreams,
esoteric events, synchronicity etc,
I read Mystic Americaism
in 2005 after attending the Monroe Institute
( remote viewing ) and an attendee from Canada
whom I met ( who shared many many of the
same puzzle pieces as I ) mentioned Manley P. Hall .
I thought of my book and read it .
Mystic Americanism became a huge significant
puzzle piece because it helped my form my perspective
regarding the Big Picture
especially where it concerns my prediction about humanity
being on the precarious precipice of a shifting of ages
from the Industrial ( Iron) Age to the Silicon ( data)
Age aka The Great Reset, which I've commented
about a gazillion times on William's blog.
William,
So ask yourself:
why was the Flour Grocer paying a debt to you?
Copy and paste:
flour(n.)
"finer portion of ground grain," mid-13c.,
from**** flower****
(n.),
and maintaining its older spelling, on the notion of flour
as the "finest part" of meal, perhaps as the flower
is the finest part of the plant or the fairest plant
of the field (compare French fleur de farine),
as distinguished from the coarser parts (meal .
Old French flor also meant both "a flower, blossom"
and "meal, fine flour."
~~~~~~

Copy and paste:
grocer(n.)
early 15c. (mid-13c. as a surname),
"wholesale dealer, one who buys and sells in gross,"
corrupted spelling of Anglo-French grosser,
Old French grossier, from Medieval Latin grossarius
"wholesaler," literally "dealer in quantity"
(source also of Spanish grosero, Italian grossista),
from Late Latin grossus "coarse (of food),
great, gross" (see gross (adj.)).

Sense of "a merchant selling individual items of food"
~~~~~~~
So, ask yourself William :
was the Flour Grocer paying you for: ' fine food for thought?
Copy and paste from Microsoft co-pilot summary:
asterisks mine
"In an esoteric context, flour often symbolizes sustenance,
****transformation****, and the fundamental building blocks
of creation. It can also represent the potential for growth,
both physically and spiritually,
and the process of refinement needed to become whole.
Additionally, flour can be associated with purity,
***dedication, and the offering of one's best to a higher power.***
Here's a more detailed look at these esoteric meanings:
1. Sustenance and Life:
Flour, being a basic ingredient for food, is inherently
linked to sustenance and the provision of life.
In the Bible, flour is often used to symbolize
God's provision and ability to provide even
in times of scarcity.
This symbolic representation extends to the spiritual realm,
where flour can represent the**** nourishment
and nourishment needed for spiritual growth.****
Wandering Gondola,
I forgot the Francis Bacon New Atlantis
link( see below)
John Dee believed that The New Atlantis would
be found on God's Longitude/Ley Line ( POLE)
i.e. the 77th Meridian West which is why Washington
DC is 'planted' on that Meridian.
The Latitudes are also Ley Lines and the El's
followed the 40th parallel north.
I believe that America was an Alchemical Experiment.
E. Pluribus Unum
As I've shared many times, I believe that
America is on the precipice
of the fall of the American Empire , which
was ALWAYS planned at this time in history.
I believe The New Atlantis. ushered in after
the Fall, will be a Technocracy via A I
under a Triumvirate Governance.
I believe the new Capitol of the New Atlantis
will be Denver Colorado
because of its coordinates:
39.7392°N 104.9849°W
lat 40, long 104
Interestingly
there is 1-44 in this lat and long.
Also 14/41 is Switzerland's unofficial
Motto: Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno
I 4 all..... and all 4 1.
I shared on this blog my absolutely
bizarre experiences of trying
to purchase a book by Daniel Parks
titled the 104 Meridian West.
I tried to purchase this book FOUR times
online in the last several years.
Twice on Amazon ( my best friend
actually tried to purchase it for me on her amazon account)
Once on Good Reads and in March of this year
on Alibris.
I've never received the book from any of the sellers
neither did my best friend.
But would Gummer hunt guar to make gum? Best not to disturb this specimen.
elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Dreams_of_a_White_Guar (also see Urshamusa Rapli)
Hm. Last night I dipped into The Nature of Middle-earth for the first time in several months. In a chapter called Death, one footnote indicates where Tolkien replaced disgusting with abhorrent in three locations, all in immediate context of the Eldar not seeing the death of plants and animals in Arda Unmarred as horrible. Elaborating here would take too long, but I'll hold that one of the chapter's best takeaways is, "Not all the things that seem evil or unnatural to the Incarnate are the fruit of the works of Mel[k]or."
In the iceberg meme you posted, "Whitley Strieber killed John Mack" appears at the top-right of the section below the dolphin. Besides the usual Wiki entry in a search for Mack, the below link caught my eye. Dunno what intrigued me most but at one point, while discussing an experience of the now-late Kary Mullis (inventor of the process misused for those birdemic tests; I've seen some theorise his death was unnatural), Mack touched on beings that initially disguise themselves as animals. No mention of oxen or wolves, but owls were the most numerous example used.
Looking back at "One and forty-four", I think the last paragraph of my comment there is still relevant. In addition, as the first link points to "Well, that didn't take long", it's possible the proverb in that post's penultimate paragraph could be pertinent.
No harm done on the missed question, Debbie. I'm unsure what to make of most of your info but will do some reading.
Wandering Gondola and William,
I just found Francis Bacon's New Atlantis
on line ( see link)
I'm addressing you too William, as I think
you ( being a linguist ) may think this information
interesting indeed in Bacon's work.
Perhaps you have already read this before?
I just found this from Francis Bacon today
and was not familiar with it. As stated,
I read Mystic Americanism in 2005.
copy and paste:
"New Atlantis is the title of Sir Francis Bacon's fantastic
utopian tale. First
published in Latin as Nova Atlantis,
and included in his Sylva Sylvarum (1624), it
was later published posthumously in English ,
by his old friend, William Rawley, as a book
in its own right. In this, his only fictional work,
Bacon offers his readers a vision of a future of
fantastic ****technological discoveries and profound
knowledge.****
~~~~

I also found this written in the book quite interesting
given my recent comments regarding
the number Five , the penta meaning change.
4+1=Five.
copy and paste:
There are five lines of text on the page.
The fifth line has five words. The fifth
word, Alban, has five letters.
The fifth letter of the alphabet is "E", therefore the
above coincidences can be represented as E E E."
~~~~~
In numerology the master/twin numbers
11, 22, 33, 44. 55, 66 are
not reduced to a single digit so 144 would
be interpreted as 1--44 or A-DD.
D meaning Dalet in Hebrew, Delta in Greek
both meaning doorway.
In Francis' Bacon The New Atlantis work ,
many of the hidden clues are listed and deciphered
, including William ( Shakespeare), 11 and 44,
El, John Dee, and 14 and 41
Here is another example from the book:
There was a man called Iohn Dee.
A mathematician who wrote a preface to the
first ever English translation of Euclid's Elements,
and who wrote a book on the
subject of the inner 'mystical' parts of alphabet symbols.
The same man who designed a peculiar little figure,
which he called his Monad. John Dee the
mathematician would surely have been aware that:
if the numbers of his names IOHN and DEE,
which are 44 and 14, were to be arranged
so that 44 is divided by 14, the result is something
many school boys would have known: In modern
decimals: 3.142857143......
forever: a common approximation for "pi".
~~~~~~~

Not surprisingly, at least to me,
that 14/41 is Switzerland's unofficial
motto,, no?
