Lions, dandy and otherwise, and a ladybird -- plus, I eat a lot of bees

Found this today on a /pol/ humor thread:

I think the "virgin" flower on the left is meant to be a tulip. It's got dicot leaves, but obviously these MS Paint drawings aren't meant to be botanically correct. The "chad" flower on the right is definitely a dandelion, and has no problem busting through concrete. This ties in with the Jesse Lawrence song quoted in "There's treasure waiting for a dandy lion":

Yeah I think there’s a treasure
Waiting for someone
To prove himself worthy and true

Yeah like a dandelion
My love’s stuck roots for you
Like a dandelion
My love’s gonna break right through
Those concrete floors and the stone laid walls
Will all be made to part
And my dandelion love
Is gonna reach your heart

The dandelion in the song is "gonna break right through those concrete floors." Even the repeated "yeah" in the lyrics is a link to the dandelion's exclamation in the meme.

Shortly after seeing the dandelion meme, I checked the Synchromystic Blogspotters aggregator. It's been years since I've checked that site, since most of the blogs it aggregates are either long dead or low-quality, but today I just felt the urge. At the top of the list of links was "The State of The Electric State?" which includes this photo:

It's a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and prominently displayed in the foreground an arm tattoo that says "LIONS 2024," with a picture of a lion's head. That arm belongs to the blogger, an Australian, and was taken on his first day in the United States.

Lions -- namely the two lazy lions lounging in a local library -- entered the sync stream in 2024, with the post "This episode is brought to you by the letters G and L."

The Golden Gate Bridge is something Debbie has brought up repeatedly in comments, though for me its main association is literary: Vikram Seth's 1986 novel in verse The Golden Gate. I've only read it once, in 2012, and remember relatively little of it. Wondering whether it had any lions in it, I searched for that word and found two instances, one of which is juxtaposed with lazy felines:

For hours she stands and views Orion,
The Bear, the Dog, the Goat, the Lion,
The cats asleep now, slackly curled
Upon the surface of the World

Elsewhere it is intimated that these cats, though lazy, are not idle:

Only her cats provide distraction,
Twin paradigms of lazy action.

Wondering whether I'd ever mentioned the Golden Gate Bridge in any of my posts, I searched this blog and found that The Golden Gate -- the verse novel, not the bridge -- had appeared in just one post, "A red frisbee almost brained him." That was posted in 2024 and includes this image:

So the only previous instance of Golden Gate on this blog was also associated with lions and the year 2024.

The Lion's Den could be the library in which the lazy lions are lounging. According to Wikipedia:

In North America, the type of rooms described by the term den varies considerably by region. It is used to describe many different kinds of bonus rooms, including family rooms, libraries, home cinemas, spare bedrooms, studies or retreats.

Also, in connection with my recent post "Ladybird WOW, and She had no choice but to be rescued by the Abelards," a reader emailed to say a large spotted ladybird had landed on her leg and stayed for over half an hour.

A large spotted ladybird landing on a lady's leg, with a left hand also in the photo, would be right at home on the L page of Animalia, with the lazy lions.

Update: I ran an image search for chad dandelion to find out what the other flower was supposed to be. Most of the results were for the meme in this post, labeled "The Virgin Rose vs. the Chad Dandelion." Okay, so it's a rose, not a tulip; either way, the leaves are wrong.

Of the first five image results, numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5 were all identical: the meme I had in mind. But the fourth result, for some reason, was this:

Just a random absurdist anti-meme. What makes it potentially noteworthy is that I have twice -- in "St. Christopher, Deseret, and -- bear with me, it's all connected" and "Be he moth or be he bird" -- posted the phrase "bees in the belly of the beast." The beast in question referred both to a lion (in the story of Samson) and to the Jaredite barges as metaphorical "whales."

Thinking that I might be the only person on the whole Internet to have used that particular turn of phrase, I ran a search out of curiosity. I only searched for "bees in the belly," leaving out the beast. Nevertheless, the very first result was "Digimon-like show with a scene where a kid fought bees in the belly of a sea monster." My search, remember, did not specify who or what the belly belonged to, but the synchronistic context was bees in the belly of the Jaredite "whales" -- and the Jaredite story links whales with sea monsters -- "no monster of the sea could break them, neither whale that could mar them" (Ether 6:10). Here's what it says at the link:

Years ago, I watched a Digimon-like show. I have hunted for it, but I don't think it's Digimon. Country is America. I saw the show somewhere around 5 or 6 years ago. It was very much an anime. I'm pretty sure it wasn't on live TV, I almost never watched that at the time. Made for kids definitely like Digimon age range .

This one kid (white kid, and in the 2010s) was going around and collecting these little chips (like Appmon Chips). He could use them to summon cool monsters. There was one time where they fought "bees" in the belly of a sea monster. The kid later summoned the sea monster with a chip.

Some of the bee creatures kinda look like Combees but either they could explode or they were delicious to the sea snake guy.

The sea snake thing looks kinda like a Seadramon.

The kid had to collect something near there (or in) I think, so it tried feeding said bee things.

They weren't bees, but they were yellow. They were like pods of a sort that are explosive. He had to defeat the beast with that and grab the chip to get out.

I don't think he was on a boat. I think he rode a turtle of a sort? That, or a bridge of monsters I honestly don't remember which.

"Chips," and the Chip Monks in charge of them, have been a very major theme here and formerly on Bill's blog. The "bee creatures" that "could explode" call to mind my 1991 dream about "a red bee" that "was going to explode, causing catastrophic damage" (see "More on 'Vineyard shouting with the bee whom hump'"). The bridge reference of course ties in with the present post, which features the Golden Gate Bridge.

It’s going to sound blasphemous to make this link, given that the meme in its surface-level meaning is using virgin to mean “loser,” but my ladybird dream associated that insect with Our Lady (which is in fact the correct etymology), and “the Virgin Rose” could obviously refer to the same personage, “Mystical Rose” being one of the titles used in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin.

On a hunch, I searched for poems called “Virgin Rose” and found one. It includes the line “Garbed in robes of green,” a link to the Lady in Green.

William,

As I was writing my comment below, I noticed
your two comments about the Rose.

Interestingly there is a Hebrew lily
connection to the rose, and do recall my many
comments about my 2008 Suzy dream and Alex Jones.
The Hebrew word "shushan" means "lily"
and is the root of the name Susan i.e. Suzy.
The Shushan Gate is also the Golden Gate
of the Temple Mount.
In all of my comments about my prediction
about the Golden Gates I refer to both
San Fran and Jerusalem.
See all my links in Part 2.

So, here is part 1 of my comment which I was writing
before I read your 2 comments which
as you'll see has a connection.

William,
Part 1 of 2

And speaking of Ladybirds , Golden Gates and Bees
2 Morkie/Maltese mix Oscar dogs, 11:11, 22,
Oh My!
I think you might find this interesting.

First of all ,
when I first read your new post and saw the photo of one
of your readers with the ladybird on her jeans
( although I've always called them ladybugs)
the first thing I noticed was the golden and black coloring
which reminded me of a bee color. I'm quite familiar
with ladybugs being red and black in color, but
not so much golden and black.

At our house in the Fall, there are a gazillion red and black
ladybugs trying to get inside of the house and many do.

'Coincidently they seem to congregate
at the part of the house where the water faucet is which
If you recall, the water faucet has connections with my
Queenie dream. The ladybugs also congregate inside
the house in the upstairs bedroom near my side of the bed.

A couple hours after checking your blog, I then checked it again
and noticed the update with the references to bees.
I thought that 'coincidence' was interesting.

But wait! It gets more intriguing!
Here are the odd connections with
San Francisco ,the Golden Gate Bridge,
2 /Morkie/Maltese mix Oscar dogs ,
the Maltese Honey Bee, 11: 11, 22
and much more. Oh My!

If you recall a couple of posts ago I shared
a trailer link of a 2013 supernatural movie with Cuba Gooding
titled Summoned.

That movie 'coincidently' appeared on my YouTube feed
one day and I hesitated watching it as I have
so very much in my 'inbox' to read
and movies to watch, but somehow the movie
thumbnail continued popping up on my feed so I watched it.

There was a whole lot of symbolism which mirrors
my puzzle pieces as I explained
on my first comment, especially regarding the number 5 ,
but more importantly the protagonist's white Morkie/Maltese
mix dog named Oscar!!
That was so odd to me because I had just commented
on your blog about my 2018 Oscar dream
and in this movie,lo and behold there
is dog named Oscar which is not a very common name.
I personally don't know anyone IRL with the name
Oscar.

Also the movie Summoned setting takes place in San Francisco.
I re-linked the trailer below.

Fast forward to a day ago, I was browsing Amazon
Prime Video for a movie to watch and I saw the 1997 movie
The Game, with Michael Douglas
as the protagonist Nicholas Van Orton.
I linked the wiki page which gives a good description of the plot.

I love that movie and I've seen it a gazillion times
over the years however for some reason I decided to watch it again.
The first thing I remembered about the movie
is the setting is also in San Fran.

As I watched it I couldn't believe all the symbolism in The Game
that connects with my puzzle pieces which of course
I've never noticed before as this time,
I looked at it with 'different' eyes.

In one of the scenes Nicholas looks at a card that his brother
gave him which was information about a game that
his ( Nicholas' ) brother had purchased for him.

There was writing on the card with the company's
name and address
and I stopped the video because I noticed
that the address was 1019 Montgomery St.
which is an actual address in San Fran.

1119 is a significant number for me,
so it caught my attention.

Nicholas( who is a very wealthy investment banker)
home address was 2210. There were several 22's in
this movie, and recall my many comments about
the number 22.

Part 2

There was a lot more symbolism I won't go into detail of
but another interesting scene was where Nicholas was
talking on the phone to a hotel clerk .
She gave a phone number to him which was 555-1111.
Of course 11:11
REALLY got my attention! The clerk said the name
of the hotel which was Hotel Nikko.

Because of the significance of 11:11 in my life which
I've shared with you a gazillion times, I stopped the movie
and googled Hotel Nikko and sure enough there really
is a Hotel Nikko in San Fran. On the contact page
is this: asterisks mine
****222 Mason**** St San Francisco, California, 94102
Phone: +1-415-394-****1111****

Also in the advertisement on Hotel Nikko's website
lo and behold a white Morkie/Maltese mix dog
is featured ( his name is Buster) who looks very
similar to the white Morkie/ Maltese Oscar in the
2013 Summoned movie.
What's the odds of that?

And last but not least, I googled Bees and the
Golden Gate bridge and found this,
copy and paste: link below

"The Original Color Scheme: Yellow and Black
In the early stages of planning the Golden Gate Bridge,
the US Navy proposed a yellow and black
stripe color scheme. This combination was intended for
navigational purposes, as such colors were
commonly used to enhance visibility
for passing ships, particularly in foggy conditions.
The U.S. War Department, with its strategic interests
in mind, supported this choice.

This proposal might have turned the Golden Gate Bridge into
a buzzing bumblebee-like structure.
However, the practicality of the colors was clear,
considering the steel alloy construction
and the need to prevent rust and corrosion caused
by the ocean air and San Francisco’s characteristic fog.
But destiny had a different hue in mind."
~~~~~~~~
And yet another interesting Bee folklore
( which perhaps you are aware of ),
is called Telling the Bees ( see link )
What's the odds?
Well acksually, one of the ingredients in concrete is lime which is a deacidifier.
AG, I guess that’s what makes that dandelion so based.
Debbie, I’d never heard of a Morkie before. It made me think of Mork, the Robin Williams character who says “nanu-nanu.”
According to Wiktionary, though, the first sitcom to use “nanu-nanu” was actually “The Odd Couple,” where it is spoken by, you guessed it, Oscar.
Woo yeah, 90 hours in MS Paint!
The stereotypical colour for ladybirds is red, right? That one looks orange to me. While I'm at it, reading some of Place of the Lion earlier tonight, in chapter eight I came across this: "'Come,' he [Anthony] said, 'let us go and see Mr. Richardson. Perhaps he'll turn into a centipede or a ladybird. Like the princess in the Arabian Nights.'"
The blogger's tattoo is the logo for the Brisbane Lions, last year's Aussie football premiers. Vaguely recall they used to be Bears in the '90s, which Wiki confirms, but I didn't realise their team song is sung to the tune of the French national anthem, "La Marseillaise".
Out of curiosity I looked at the Synchromystic Blogspotters page, but on my phone it only showed the list of blogs. One title stuck out -- "a lifetime of silence beyond the black rainbow" -- and not just for your recent link back to "Ark in the dark" and a dark 'bow. A lifetime of silence is written on a military patch referencing the Green Door.
Initially I just searched for images of the patch to check my memory, and was surprised to see one pic of a woman, labelled Marilyn Chambers (incidentally the same name as an Aussie TV show character). She was the star of a movie called Behind the Green Door, its title referencing that pop song. The movie is hardcore pr0n, however, and that's a hard limit (no pun intended) on my sync curiosity.
Before I forget, one of the first tunes my music player dished up tonight was London Grammar's Strong, its pre-chorus invoking a roaring lion. I have my own interpretations of the song, but the meaning described in Genius's "about" section (also see its comments) is... thought-provoking.
William,
I forgot to add, in the Hotel Nikko website the video
with Buster the Morkie
note the sign and the Sea Lions at the pier
and of course the Golden Gate Bridge.
Sea William, perhaps you're a lion,
and not a Curious George Monkey, no?
I forgot to add that in the information I
linked about the Lily and the Rose, there
is reference to Sharon Valley
in Israel.
"Coincidently, my older sister's name
is Sharon.
As I shared my grandmother was very religious
which is the reason why my sister and I have Bibical
names.
