Don’t be fooled by fake yellow flowers

Very early this morning, while in a hypnopompic state, my mind latched onto the word rail. Bill had been railing against me, I thought, and I had been railroaded — summarily declared guilty before even being informed of the charges. From there, my train (heh) of thought wandered to Rinbad the Railer, and before I knew it I had, still in the hypnopompic state, composed two new couplets for “With?” — going beyond the list of names given in Ulysses but continuing the pattern:

Brinbad the Brailler, lacking sight,
By touch alone could read aright.

Skinbad the Scaler wasn’t much
Like Brinbad. He had lost his touch.

In the morning, I was outdoors supervising younger preschoolers while their older classmates were having graduation photos taken.

A four-year-old boy whose English is precociously good brought me something and said, “Look, I found an octopus!”

It was a tiny yellow flower, less than a centimeter in diameter, with six long, thin petals.

“Are you sure it’s an octopus?” I said. “It doesn’t have eight arms.”

“It has six arms,” he said. “This octopus has six arms.”

It has already been established that the six-armed octopus (as in the Hydra logo) is symbolically interchangeable with the six-legged spider, and that both represent Ungoliant trying to disguise herself as someone Good.

Looking more closely at the “octopus,” I saw that it wasn’t actually a flower at all but a piece of yellow plastic. A fake flower.

This matches up most uncannily with an experience Bill reports in the comments on “The ladybird, the six-legged spider, and the dandelion.” Having decided that the dandelion (a yellow flower) was a Good symbol, he watched what he thought was the official music video for a song called “Dandelions” but was thrown for a loop when the video turned out to include scenes from a Spider-Man movie. Spiders are an evil symbol, so how could he understand this juxtaposition? Then he figured out that he was actually watching a fake music video for “Dandelion,” dishonestly pretending to be the official one. The spider was thus connected not with dandelions but with fake dandelions.

In the same way, I thought at first that Ungoliant symbolism was being tied to a yellow flower, but upon closer inspection I discovered that it was a fake yellow flower.

Just before beginning this post, I checked one of my email accounts, and it said I had one unread message, from the YouTuber Ceiling Fan Man. I had emailed him, remember, after discovering that he had started his channel on exactly the same day that my own ceiling fan had been destroyed by a poltergeist. Since my wife had perceived the geist as a gigantic spider, this seemed very relevant to the Ungoliant theme. Incidentally, the Chinese for “ceiling” is literally “heavenly flower.”

When I clicked, I found it wasn’t a new message at all but one I’d received and read on April 8, which for some reason was now marked as unread. The message said:

Wow, there are no coincidences. I am glad you found my channel. I thank you for sharing your story.  When we had poltergeist incidents here, we called on Jesus and it stopped.  I hope yours have stopped too.  God bless.

My best guess is that I’m being prepared for some future manifestation of Ungoliant under false colors, and that CFM’s advice will prove useful.

Although I seem to be “lacking sight” to see the big picture clearly, I’m hoping I can successfully feel my way through all this by touch alone, like Brinbad.

Or maybe I’m Skinbad. Who knows.

I’ve just realized we unwittingly re-enacted the beginning of that Ween song!

“Hey, little boy, whatcha got there?”

“Kind sir, it’s a mollusk I found.”

My old post about that song even makes the point that cephalopods are mollusks, too.

I see Debbie has left a comment on my last post which mentions "***fish-skin-cloaked****" gods (asterisks in the original). I had thought of Skinbad the Scaler as a snake, but a fish also has a scaly skin.

William,
I must admit that I'm clueless as to what cephalopods ,
Skinbads and Scalers are. Oh My!
However my first thought was : do all of these shine?

Of course fish, bees and snakes' SKIN shines but
does that mean they're good entities or bad
( as in SkinBad) in other words; is it bad/evil/demonic
to shine ?

I did a google search and found this about cephalopods.
Copy and paste: asterisks mine
"Cephalopods do not have scales that would cause them
to shine like a metal, and they do not have a glassy
or smooth appearance.
Instead, they have unique features that can make them
appear shiny in certain ways. These include:
Iridophores:
Some cephalopods have specialized cells
called iridophores in their skin.
These cells contain iridescent structures
that can ***reflect light*** and create a shimmering
effect, making the cephalopod appear shiny.

Bioluminescence:
Many deep-sea cephalopods possess bioluminescence,
the ***ability to produce their own light****

. This can make them appear to glow and sparkle,
especially in the dark depths of the ocean.

Camouflage:
Cephalopods are**** masters of camouflage,****
and they can ****change their skin color, pattern,
and texture to****blend in with their surroundings****

This can make them appear to disappear into
the background and create a shimmering effect as they move."
~~~~~~~~~~
I thought it particularly interesting about camouflage.
I believe that we all camouflage ourselves in someway
shape or form throughout our lives
as we want to be accepted by others and
" blend in with our surroundings, whether those surroundings
are where we belong or not, that is, whether
the surroundings are good or bad(Skin Bad ).
I found it interesting your train reference. A train
or bus or plane means someone else is doing
the driving and we are not in control, which
connects to the blending in with our surroundings.
That which shines doesn't blend in.
I found this interesting.
Copy and paste from Microsoft Co- Pilot:
"The Shining Ones" refers to a concept explored
in books and discussions, often describing
a secret society or an advanced culture that
preserved wisdom and knowledge through
mythology, legend, art, architecture, and literature.
They are said to have influenced humanity
and perhaps controlled the development of the world.
Some theories even suggest they are from
a higher plane or dimension, not just spacefarers,
and that they had a significant impact
on the development of early civilizations.
Here's a more detailed look:
Secret Knowledge and Preservation:
.
The Shining Ones are portrayed as having
a mission to preserve their secret knowledge
and help humanity, while also influencing
the development of the world.
Advanced Culture:
.They are often depicted as belonging to
an advanced culture that used various forms
of art, architecture, literature (including the Bible),
and mythology to keep their wisdom alive.
Possible Anunnaki Connection:
.Some theories link the Shining Ones to the Anunnaki,
suggesting they are from a higher plane or dimension,
rather than just spacefarers, as noted in a review on Amazon.
Influence on Early Civilizations:
.The Shining Ones are seen as having a
significant influence on the development
of early civilizations.
Possible Connection to Otherworldly Beings:
.Some discussions suggest similarities
between Sumerian and Irish iconography
might indicate the same otherworldly beings,
possibly "The Shining Ones," visited both regions.
Role in Mythology and Legend:
.
The concept of the Shining Ones often incorporates
mythology and legend, highlighting their importance
in preserving knowledge and shaping cultural narratives"
William,
I want to add a bit more to this thought:
"I believe that we all camouflage ourselves in someway
shape or form throughout our lives
as we want to be accepted by others and
" blend in with our surroundings, whether those
surroundings are where we belong or not,
that is, whether the surroundings
" are good or bad(Skin Bad ).
~~~~
To clarify, I meant to write that 'whether
the surroundings are good for our soul or
not".

As I've shared so many times
and I personally believe
that our soul ( connected to God)
knows exactly where we need to be.

Cephalopods are the family of mollusks that includes the octopus , squid, and similar creatures.

Brinbad the Brailler and Skinbad the Scaler are patterned after a passage in James Joyce's novel Ulysses where he lists lots and lots of alliterative name-title combinations that rhyme with "Sinbad the Sailor." My poem "With?" (see the link in the post) uses all of these from Ulysses; today's post adds two more not found in the novel.

If I were in your position, I think I would feel railroaded as well.

It's not always a bad thing to be railroaded, though. For example, in the vision of the Tree of Life, a rod of iron (literally a Rail) was created that allowed people to return to that Tree as long as they clung to it. They were quite literally railroaded as they passed through Ungoliant's mists of darkness.

Those new couplets are good. You've looked into some of the meaning?

To be a "Scaler" has some interesting connotations, with some definitions I already knew, but some that I didn't that were surprising. An early meaning of Scale was "Drinking Cup", for example. I left a comment earlier on Pharazon drinking his "fill of the lillies' cup", as it was phrased in Slumbered. And of course, Pharazon ascended to Eressea and Heaven itself, laying siege on both... to scale something, means to climb. Specifically, it looks like Scale was used to describe the seige towers and ladders that were used for attackers to mount walls. Pharazon was compared to Humpty Dumpty due to both having "scalers" of a wall, and having fallen off of it.

And of course you have obvious connections to scales of snakes, fish, etc. And scales of blindness - a scaler in that sense would be one who caused blindness.

On the other hand, a Brailler is interesting as well. Braille is named after the Frenchman Louis Braille. When I saw that the name was French, I had to look this up, given France's symbolism in my own thinking. I wasn't disappointed.

Braille in French means something like "to yell, scream, cry, bellow", etc. I found this a remarkable tie to a dream I had just had earlier this morning, which ended with me literally yelling at a group of Mormon missionaries.

In the dream, I held a large dinner party at my house. I had invited several Mormon missionaries to the party, and in fact made sure they had what were considered seats of honor at my table.

However, after arriving at the party, the missionaries began to act like policemen, notifying me that they believed there was something contraband in my house. I understood that this had something to do with what I had written (I visualized a piece of paper with writing on it), but fortunately I did not have the paper on me personally or anywhere it could be found. They made me empty my pockets, subjected me to a full body frisk, and conducted a search of the house, which I took all rather patiently.

Later, as groups were milling around, the missionaries were about to take a group picture of themselves. I passed by, and they asked if I would join their photo. I flatly said "No" and kept walking. This created a stir, and they became offended that I would not take a picture with them. Their taking offense was too much for me at that point, after everything they had already done at my party. So, I turned around and yelled at them in a very loud voice (I wasn't angry, per se, but did feel something like righteous indignation), "You've come into MY house and done nothing but treat me like a criminal. So NO! I will NOT come and join you in your picture!"

Brin (the first part of Brinbad) is an Elvish word which means "Glass, Glassy". WG a few days ago accused me of having "Vitriol" in my comments toward you. I remarked that it was an interesting word choice, but left unsaid the primary reason I thought so was because Vitriol comes from the Latin vitreus, meaning, you guess it, "Glass, of Glassy". At the time, I took her unintentional word choice much differently than she meant it, referring rather to a Stone, often referred to as glassy or glass-like in other writings, including Tolkien's (the Palantir were described as Glassy).

William Wright (WW) said...

One other thing relating to Braille itself as a system of language and what that means here.

The difference between Brinbad and Skinbad is their sense of touch relating to Dots, obviously. In Braille, one understands the language by feeling dots and understanding how those dots related to each other. The dots forms patterns which make a language - something that can be interpreted.

In other words, to be a Brailler one must be able to .... Connect The Dots.

Ra1119bee said...

WW,
I would add that the metaphor of
'connecting the dots' means :
to understand the relationships between
****different**** facts or events****
so that you ****fully understand a situation.

Like puzzle pieces each dot has it own meaning
which is imperative to the big picture.
Copy and paste:
"The dot positions are identified by numbers from one to six.
There are 64 possible combinations, including no dots
at all for a word space.
Dot configurations can be used to ***represent a letter,
digit, punctuation mark, or even a word."
~~~~~~~
Even after completing the puzzle, the big picture still
needs to be interpreted so that we can understand
it meaning and/or purpose.
No one else can interpret for us as to what the big
picture 'Should' mean.
For example if after all of our gazillion hours and much
effort to connect each and every tiny puzzle piece
and when it all comes together and revels
the image of a horse. What does that mean?
It might mean something entirely different for you
than it does for me.
Like the dots themselves, there is more
than one big picture i.e. story.
The idea of a blind brailleur (shouter) makes me think of Isaiah 42, which includes both themes.
https://newworldisland.org/bible/?Isaiah%2042
The first couplet follows naturally from the concept of Braille. The second has no obvious logic to it but just came to me.
A scaler could be a fish or reptile, one who scales a wall, one who weighs things, a judge, a reference to do-re-mi, someone who makes things bigger or smaller, Leviathan (“his scales are his pride”), among many other possibilities. As for the Skinbad part of the name, I admit my first thought was of someone who used to use “Skins” in his branding.
Given the juxtaposition with blindness, I think the most likely interpretation has to do with “scales of darkness.”
https://newworldisland.org/bible/?2%20Nephi%2030#6
William Wright (WW) said...
Isaiah 42 has such interesting symbolism, where at first you have this servant who is sent to not speak or even to break a bruised reed, but then later this evolution to crying, screaming, yelling, and laying waste to mountains and hills, with the crying compared to a woman giving birth, perhaps in the endeavor to bring forth a new thing.
Yes, I figured you would attach the Skin to me given the Coat of Skins. It was more than just branding, though, with that title a central theme of the topic at hand. So, if you remember some of what that was about, you might be less inclined to shoot the messenger, as it were, and think more about what it means to have Bad Skin/ Skin Bad.
But, because these titles are in the context of blind individuals connecting dots, the names also might have something to do with the source of their interpretation or how they read, or don't read, the dots. Skin, of course, is also a representation of outer appearance or how things look. Beauty is only skin deep is a phrase demonstrating this.
You have shown a remarkable tendency to interpret the symbols in how they appear - by their skins, in other words. As one quite literal example, Jason Statham came up in The Working Man (and earlier in the Beekeeper, The Meg, etc.). Interestingly, you applied this symbol to yourself because apparently some people think you look like him. Interesting, right? Leaving aside the fact that I bet you look as much like Jason Statham as that 6-legged spider looks like that lady bug, and this would be apparent if you two stood next to each other, it is telling that you first went to how Jason symbolized you because you looked like him (I know you then also went into some other reasons). This would be a Skinbad tendency, I would think, in interpreting something based on its appearance.
This is a far cry from my own strong tendency in symbols, which is to look at the name of the thing, among other things. It is actually where I go first, without fail as I reflect on it now. We are actually in stark contrast to each other in this regard. Which is so surprising to me sometimes that you as a trained linguist spend so little time in actually looking at language, names, etc. In fact, you completely ignored my own "words" gained over the last several years, which form a fairly substantial foundation for my own interpretation of the Dots. Without them, and the story that comes from them, I'd be fairly lost amid the chaos, I think.
Which is better in this respect? I have my own opinion, but Leo's quoting of Treebeard comes to mind, in which Treebeard says that there are many things that look like Ents, but are not (and so we should be careful), but if you know and understand the Name of a thing, then you have its story. Meaning, appearances can fool, and probably aren't our best guide, but names mean something if we can read them right.
I have a couple other thoughts, but will continue in another comment.
William Wright (WW) said...
Pharazon was another Being known for his Skin, or his outward appearance. He wanted to be the Chosen One. He wasn't, but he compensated for this by literally wore a belt that said he was, and went around in clothes that made him look like a sun god or something. But these were just skin-deep or superficial attempts to be something he wasn't. I mean, it seems pretty silly, and I am sure seeing him next to the one he was trying to look like would tip us off as to who was the real one vs. the fake, just like with you and Statham, but it worked for many of the Numenoreans. They were really sick, even more so than we are, it seems.
Lastly, I kept thinking about this Railroading. I took a creative liberty yesterday and said not all Railroading is bad, and that many people will be Railroaded in a really good way back to the Tree of Life. This is true, I believe, but honestly the example that kept coming to my mind yesterday as I thought on this in this specific context was that scene between Westley and Vizzini in The Princess Bride. You wouldn't remember, probably, but that came up a few times over on my blogs.
Vizzini was in a very real way railroaded, and frankly manipulated, into playing a game with a pre-determined outcome, the poor guy. He didn't know it, but he could not win, no matter how much he wanted to spin, counter, and distract his way to a different outcome. The only winning option would have been to release the princess (who he kidnapped... which is also called abducting, I believe) and not play the game, but his own pride prevented him from making that choice. It wasn't fair.
The game between Westley and Vizzini involved drinking from a cup. As I mentioned, but you left off in your own definitions, a drinking cup is another meaning of the word Scale, and thus a Scaler could be one that drinks from a cup. But a really interesting thing in that scene is that Vizzini hopes to win the game by reversing or switching the cups, which he does while distracting Westley. Westly put the cups down in a certain way, and Vizzini reverses them, just like Mr. Mxyzptlk might do - or you, for that matter.
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
So what’s the equivalent of releasing the princess in this analogy of yours? What is my pride supposed to be preventing me from doing which, if I did it, would save me? (Keeping in mind that what I need “saving” from is the alleged fact that I was, unbeknownst to myself, born guilty of the crimes committed by an ancient and at least partly fictional person thousands of years ago.)
William Wright (WW) said...
Maybe start with the Princess' name, though, which is Buttercup, if we are looking at meaning behind her abduction, and potentially the actress' name as well, which is Robin Wright.
In the spirit of Golden Men, whether actual or dressing up and naming themselves as such, The Princess Bride was first a novel written in 1973 by a man named William Goldman. In the title, he references the fictional author known as S. Morgenstern, German for "Morning Star", with the setup being that Goldman's book is an abridgement of the longer tale written by Morgenstern.
William,
Part 1 of 2
If I may add just one more thought.
You wrote: " Or maybe I’m Skinbad. Who knows."
~~~~~
IMHO William,
YOUR SOUL KNOWS.

I believe that if we're given paranormal 'gifts'
finding the meaning will come to us very
easy when we allow ourselves to receive it.
If there's tension or doubt within ourselves
or with others then like a radio trying to pick
up a signal and can't, we'll never hear the message
because of the surrounding chaos.

Case in point, and this just happened a
couple of days ago.
Marshall and I were once again 'debating' about
my 'paranormal 'mumbo jumbo' experiences.
Whenever we 'debate' it always causes me to doubt
myself and I think: ok, so maybe I'm wrong and everybody
else is normal and right.

However I know ( at least to me) that I'm not wrong
because a huge percentage of what I've 'predicted'
has come true over the years and has proven itself to me
and it frustrates me that Marshall refuses to admit it
as he has been right along side of me when these
gazillion weird experiences and dreams has happened
since 1985 when we first met.

Anywho, during the debate I reminded Marshall of
the 1961 Twilight Zone episode titled: The Jungle.
We both have seen The Jungle several times before
but it's been a long time.

Here's a bit of summary of the episode
Copy and paste from wiki
"Alan Richards and his wife Doris have recently returned
from Africa, where Alan's company is constructing
a hydroelectric dam.

Alan attends a board meeting, where they discuss
the dam and the fact that, although the natives
will benefit from it in the long run, they are upset
that they will be displaced in order to build it.

He warns that the local witch doctors have threatened
to use black magic against anyone
associated with the project.

When the other board members scoff,
he points out their own superstitions:
one carries a rabbit's foot, another practices astrology,
and even the building does not have a 13th floor."
~~~~~~~~~~
My point to Marshall was : whether we like it
or disagree with it or understand it or not, the Sacred
Science knowledge is the foundation of our very existence
in THIS duality dimension which I bet the farm Rod
Serling knew that as well.
Anywho, after the debate and later that night I googled
The Jungle and was able to find the full episode
on a website titled Daily Motion ( link below).
As I was watching the episode there is a scene
( marker 4:47 in the full episode ) where
the executives are in the board room.
On the table is a report titled:
The Koloka River Dam Project.
I was curious as to if there was a such thing
as Koloka and sure enough I googled
and found a photo
of a Black Woman said to have held the title
of Queen Koloka of the LoLo tribe.
( Interestingly the two L's in LoLo
and that Lady Luck has two L's as well )
This Queen Koloka was not mentioned
in the Twilight Zone episode.
I didn't really feel that Queen Koloka
had any connection with my puzzle pieces
however
so I researched further and lo and
behold I did find a VERY interesting connection,
with the LoLo's and the Hmong peoples
in Southeast Asia.
Before I continue please recall that I've
shared that in 1974 at my Past Life reading
the Reader told me that I had an incarnation
in Tibet which that resonated with me
because ever since I was seven years old,
I've always been attracted to that
part of the world. I grew up on the West side
of Dayton Ohio, and I don't recall any Asians
living there.
William
Part 2
As I research further I stumbled upon
many articles of the Hmong women
and what really caught my attention is
the married Hmong women's hairstyle!!!
I couldn't believe it!!
Here's why:
About a year or so ago, I started to wear my hair
a bit different. In the past I've worn my hair in a 50's beehive
like the 1960's girl group The Ronettes but
in the last year or so I wanted to change it up a bit.
After visiting a few hair tutorials on YouTube I wrapped
my hair a bit different but still giving me that 'elongated' head
beehive look.
What was odd that in the following weeks,
when Marshall and I ran errands ,
strangers ( White people) would complement
me on my hair.
Even young people. One young White girl
( about 3 or 4 ) was with her parents at Kroger's,
a large grocery store chain.
The little girl was sitting in a shopping cart.
As I was walking past the family the little girl
shouted something to me which I didn't understand
what she said as again she was only about
3 years old . I turned around curiously and smiled
and the mother smiled and said:
'She said that she likes your hair.'
I was stunned, and of course thanked the little girl
and the mother.
That has never happened to me before.
Lo and behold as I was researching the Hmong people,
I found that they have several ethnic groups.
One is called the Green Hmong, and check
this out!
Copy and Paste: ( link below )
"Green Hmong women wear tube skirts.
Married Green Hmong women ***arrange their hair in a chignon
or bun on the top of their head,***
fastened with a little bone or animal hoof comb,
and wear a scarf outside."
~~~~~~~~
What's the odds???
I provided a link of a facebook page, with several photos
of Hmong girls wearing their hairstyle as mine
and the photo in the upper left side, the girl in the back
looks so eerily similar to me ( as does her hair style)
that she could be my sister.

If you can't open that link, let me know if you want
to see it as I have saved it in my photos.

I shared all of that to say this: I am convinced
that If our soul wants us
to find answers to our questions as
to who we are and what we came to this duality dimension
to do, I absolutely believe if we allow our soul and God
to guide the way, we'll get there. No chaos, no doubt
just free.

Finding this information about the Hmong validated,
at least to me
that we're more than our physical bodies and our souls
have been many cultures, and many skins.
Stay true to what your soul knows...
