Never gonna be enough

I was just listening to the Metric song "Gold Guns Girls," which talks about having access to all the money, power, and sex in the world and repeatedly asks the rhetorical question, "Is it ever gonna be enough?" The video shows jittery band members running through the streets, never able to rest.

I then checked some blogs and found a post by Vox Day about the death of a singer I'd never heard of, who was apparently also a particularly horrible sort of unrepentant serial child-rapist and was recently murdered in prison. VD writes:

The fall of Ian Watkins into utter depravity is a reminder that no matter how much worldly success one has, it will never be satisfying and it will never be enough, so chasing it is an obvious fool’s game from the start.
