Things come to a point in the CJCLDS

O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
-- Isaiah the Prophet

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

There are differences of opinion, there are delusions, and there are lies. I've bolded the lies.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sent the following message on Thursday, August 12, 2021, to Church members around the world:

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

We find ourselves fighting a war against the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants, an unrelenting pandemic. We want to do all we can to limit the spread of these viruses. We know that protection from the diseases they cause can only be achieved by immunizing a very high percentage of the population.

To limit exposure to these viruses, we urge the use of face masks in public meetings whenever social distancing is not possible. To provide personal protection from such severe infections, we urge individuals to be vaccinated. Available vaccines have proven to be both safe and effective.

We can win this war if everyone will follow the wise and thoughtful recommendations of medical experts and government leaders. Please know of our sincere love and great concern for all of God’s children.

The First Presidency

Russell M. Nelson
Dallin H. Oaks
Henry B. Eyring

"We can win this war if everyone will follow the wise [sic] and thoughtful [sic] recommendations of medical experts and government leaders." That doesn't leave much room for doubt as to which side of the spiritual war they consider to be "their" side!

Mormons, the choice is clear: Do you follow these three men, who follow the wise and wonderful edicts of the secret society of Gadianton, which society and the works thereof they know to be good? Or are you desirous to follow the voice of the Good Shepherd, and to come out from the wicked, and be separate, and touch not the unclean thing?

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

As you say - it is now very clear.

But will genuine Mormons be any more realistic about their situation than were genuine Anglicans, Methodists or Roman Catholics?

I have my found my jabbed friends and family members to be uncharacteristically and extremely fearful and angry. Another line of evidence brought that into focus yesterday, and I now suspect that the jabbed are no longer alone in their bodies.

I'm still exploring this idea, but it instantly felt right and offers insight on the aforementioned letter as well.

No, they will not, not in any significant numbers. Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

@Ben

The minute I understood what you were suggesting, I knew it to be true. Saint Michael defend us in battle.

Can we start referring to the CJCLDS as System Christianity now?

I am reminded of something from GunnerQ Christian MGTOW's recent blog post "A Sermon From the Church Of Evil" where he is quoting an atheist's Op-ed "Why vaccination hesitancy runs deep among the religious — and what we can do to reach them", and dissecting it, and the atheist says:

"While many Americans and Europeans drifted away from religion, except as a guide to moral conduct or a source of community, religious conservatives sustained the belief in God as an imminent presence in daily life — a power vastly superior to any kind of research or learning."

This is exactly what is happening here with this Mormon president. He has accepted the rhetoric in which God does not exist, or does not exist as "an imminent presence in daily life — a power vastly superior to any kind of research or learning" and has embraced the idea that religion is only to be a "guide to moral conduct" (but meaning only not killing, certainly not governing sexual conduct) "or a source of community."

Also, the idea of waging war against a virus is nonsense. Prior to 2020, you just got a virus and got over it. Now a virus is some kind of powerful army that you have to wage war on for years? The only virus before that has ever been described in that way is AIDS, but the only reason it is that way its because its divine punishment against gays.

@Frank

Sure, it’s what they’ve always wanted: to be considered every bit as Christian as the Catholics and Protestants!

@Jorgen

In the CJCLDS’s defense, they do still maintain that premarital, extramarital, and antibiological sex are serious sins.

What a "coincidence" - the Catholic hierarchy just ordered all US Bishops to put out statements saying no Priest is allowed to sign a religious exemption waiver for any of their faithful.

Finally, all Christians can work together to inject Satanic experiments into their faithful.

For the first time since Christmas, I went to sacrament meeting this past weekend in support of my wife who was giving a talk.

I found myself alone in the corridor, and near the entrance to the chapel athwart the rest of the hall was a lovely dispenser of hand sanitizer. I clasped my hands bowed and said mock-sacerdotally, "Hail, Covid" to that despicable icon between me and the doorway. I know my Creator knew I was utterly sarcastic at that moment and meant no sacrilege to Him.

I always knew over the years that I was something special, but to think I along with the rest of you are here for the final battle is pretty awesome, I suppose.
