Some say the world will end in fire

I dreamt I had gone to see the Background Brethren in a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden. (Someone in the audience sitting near me quipped that she was going to get an "MSG headache" if the music was too loud.) The Background Brethren were a singing duo who maintained strict secrecy about their identities, and the rumors that swirled around them would put the Bogdanov twins to shame. They always performed in full-body sky-blue Bugs Bunny costumes. The sky-blue bunny, called the Ziff Rabbit, was used extensively in their branding, sort of like the Grateful Dead’s dancing bears.

The Brethren strode onto the stage, and there was a bit of back-and-forth with the audience, with the Brethren asking if various people had started the fire, and the audience always replying, "Hell, no!" Finally, one of the Brethren said, "Well, you know what Momma always said," and the audience shouted in unison, "I don't care who started it -- you stop it!"

One of the Brethren noodled on his guitar for a bit and then started singing, "That's great, it starts with an earthquake --"

The audience roared with laughter.

"Come on, help a Brother out here," said the Brother. "How does it start?"

A chorus of voices shouted, "Harry Truman! Doris Day!"

The Brethren took over from there and began performing a version of the Billy Joel song "We Didn't Start the Fire." The lyrics had been modified quite a bit, partly to update the song with references from the nineties and the present century, and partly to add allusions to R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)." For example, at one point, the Brethren sang, "Einstein, Columbine," and then held out their microphones to the audience, who belted out, "Le-o-nard Bernstein!"

I can only remember bits and pieces of the lyrics. I know that at one point "Miley Cyrus" rhymed with "Coronavirus" but can't remember what else was in those lines. The only complete lines I can remember from this part of the song were:

Harry Potter, Iron Chef
Epstein didn't kill himself

After bringing us from the 1940s to the present, the Brethren got quiet, and then one of them said, "Now, I want you to know we been up all night with our crystal balls to bring you this next bit" -- meaning that this next part of the song was about the future. The melody changed at this point, too. I can't remember the new melody, but I'm confident I got the "future" lyrics verbatim:

Snake eyes, paradise
Something moving in the ice
Malcolm X, Genghis Khan
Pray for Satan's salvation

That last word was pronounced "SAL-vay-SHON" to rhyme with Khan, an atrocious kludge I would never tolerate in my own verse. After those lines, they finally segued into the much-foreshadowed chorus from R.E.M.:

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
And I feel fine

And then I woke up.

"Snake eyes, paradise" has at least two meanings. Paradise is the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve's eyes were opened by a snake, but it also sounds like "pair o' dice," which is what the expression "snake eyes" usually refers to. "Pray for Satan's salvation" was a line used by atheist provocateur Normal Bob Smith. I'm not sure what is meant by placing Malcolm X and Genghis Khan in the future, but I note that Nostradamus also (according to one common interpretation) made future predictions about the Khan.

When I heard "Something moving in the ice" in the dream, it instantly triggered two simultaneous mental images: one of a crocus pushing up through the snow, and one of an enormous red eel slithering under the ice in a frozen-over body of water. The first image comes from a poem I wrote in my teens:

He saw the snowflakes parted by
Persistent leafy blades,
And in his eyes he thought he saw,
Through gleaming seas of crystal snow,
A crocus lift its head.

The second comes from the 1968 Moody Blues song "Dr. Livingstone, I Presume":

Captain Scott, you were so bold
Now you're looking rather cold
Out there in the snow
What did you find there?
Did you stand a while and stare?
Did you meet anyone?

I've seen polar bears and seals
I've seen giant Antarctic eels
I've still not found what I'm looking for

We're all looking for someone
We're all looking for someone
We're all looking for someone

This morning, after the dream, I saw someone wearing this T-shirt, which seemed possibly relevant to the Background Brethren in their bunny costumes:

Here, for your convenience, are the three songs referenced above:

 William,
Part 1 of 2

There are 2 blues in your dream. Moody Blues
and the blue Bunny.

Interestingly all of the videos you posted,
have the same theme, which ( once again )
I believe its message is one of transformation.

 Billy Joel's video: We didn't start the Fire
 (which of course is the Phoenix)
begins with a wedding and ends with a death.

In the funeral scene the widow (dressed in black )
drinks wine or champagne from a glass
( symbolic of chalice/cup perhaps?).

 In R. E. M's video' It's The End of the World ( which the clue
could be REM sleep ( rapid eye movement),
 the very beginning of the lyrics are the words;
it starts with an earthquake.
An earthquake is a crack.
Perhaps the crack of an egg, like Humpty Dumpty.

I'm sure you are aware that Donald Trump's surname
was originally Drumpf.( see link )
Many social media meme's refer to Donald Trump
as Humpty Dumpty and truth be told
he kinda looks like Humpty ( at least to me).

I believe  the symbolic meaning of the crack
is not a physical earthquake that coming
but the division/separation of humanity
 aka the great Fall.

Recall my many comments on your blog
about falling down and International Maritime
Signal Flag O for Oscar meaning Man Overboard.

There is also several references in Seal's
song Kiss from a Rose video
about falling down and several
scenes of Batman falling down.
In the new Superman movie, which I linked
in your previous post, Superman too 'falls down'
into snow.

The singer Seal actually has 'cracks( scars) on his face
from an autoimmune disorder.

Another crack clue was the beginning
of the 2023 Netflix movie
Leave the World Behind.
 I know, I know I comment
about this movie a gazillion times and perhaps
too much,
however and IMHO, this movie is a HUGE HUGE clue
regarding the Great Reset. I think the movie's
purpose was/is predictive programing.

William,
Part 2

At the very beginning of Leave the World
Behind note the scene
where Amanda ( Julie Roberts ) is packing
for the family vacation and her husband Clay is still
in bed. ( see link )

Note the vivid blue wall behind Clay.
The Wall is Cracked.
Isn't Earth referred to as The Big Blue Planet???

In the R. E. M. video in the beginning , note the young man
'beating/cracking' on a globe/world/Earth
as if playing a drum.

There is also an interesting article ( link below )
about the symbolism of all of the blue
in Leave the World behind
which I've made note of all the blue in
this movie many times.

Also the word breach ( crack ) is mentioned
in the Old Testament.
copy and paste:
"Isaiah 30:13
Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall,
whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.”
~~~~~~
I've also commented many times
that I think the Great Reset
will be ushered in after a very SUDDEN event.
What really got my attention in the R. E. M video
was the red rose ( shown twice in the video ) Recall
my previous and recent comments about my personal
Rose ( Rosicrucian) connections and my recent
comment about the character Rose in Leave the World
Behind which of course is a movie about a cyberattack
and the End of an Age.
At the end of the R. E. M video I did note
  the separation of the dog and the young man.
In the Tarot, the Fool's white dog is always
 by his side, serving as guide for the fool on his new adventure.
Not so in this video as 'the Fool ( symbolic of the young man)
chooses to remain in the dilapidated house with the discarded
relics of the past.
The Moody Blues' illustration is also a very obvious symbolism
of beginnings and ends ( the skull and baby still in womb ).
The bunny rabbit is yet another
new beginnings connection.
And last but not least and referring back to
the chorus of R.E.M's song and the lyrics ,
I Feel Fine,  check out the Beatles
in this very odd' work out' video singing their
1964 song I Feel Fine.
Note George singing into a 'baal' ( ball)
and the sharp focus of the camera on the 'wheels '
of the stationary Bi-Cycle. ( Two Cycles ) which
Ringo is peddling.
Note that the second wheel is an EIGHT POINT STAR.
Interestingly Richard Ringo STAR—key stops peddling
just long enough for the camera
to get a very clear view of the eight points.
Coincidence??
Ringo also 'winks' behind Paul and John's back
at marker/frame beginning about 0:56--0:59.
 Also In the lyrics is reference to ' little girl' and recall
my recent 'little seals' comment.
Also, and speaking of dogs ,there is a dog 'barking'
( very faintly) at the end of I Feel Fine.
Google it.
Symbolism be everywhere, no?
A deeply ominous dream.
For starters, Revelation talks about earthquakes and fire a bit, no? Associates of mine continue to monitor Yellowstone, most recently posting about it earlier today. (Current events in mind, they've also been reiterating that Democrat leadership had Epstein assassinated, as opposed to the pervasive "he's still alive, hiding out somewhere" idea.) Also, a future paradise would suggest Revelation's new heaven and earth.
In before Bill brings up "frozen Numenor" again (I cannot take it literally, it feels... off) -- those two mental images together clearly indicate the thawing of Antarctica. More is hidden there than people realise.
Malcolm and Genghis are puzzling. My drifting thoughts include reincarnations of the pair; some new twist in spheres they were involved in (race, civil rights, Islam / war, empire, Asia); or, related to Khan alone, increasing pushback against Darwinian evolution, something Vox's number-crunching indicates is impossible.
voxday.net/2024/05/05/genghis-khan-and-the-refinement-of-mittens/
Hm, a thematic comparison of Billy Joel, R.E.M., and Seal's "Crazy" is interesting -- all inspired by world events and released within a five-year span. While Michael Stipe flat-out ranted about the times (how ought one take "I feel fine"?) and Billy pointed out every era has its own madness, in feeling things change Seal went higher, inspirational.
Lastly, it figures that bunny's shirt is blue-green.
I think these songs tie in with those two Cheekface songs, too: "You Always Want to Bomb the Middle East" ("We didn't start the bonfire of the vanities") and "We Need a Bigger Dumpster" (a dumpster fire, but "Everything is fine!").
Wandering Gondola,
I absolutely agree with you about Antarctica.
I've commented many times about Admiral
Byrd and Operation HighJump, Hitler and the SS
and the Hollow Earth aka Agartha.
Also after reading your comment about Malcolm,
it just suddenly struck me.
 In the 1980's there was a very popular fictional
 TV show about a Black family titled; The Cosby Show.
Bill Cosby was the producer of the Cosby Show
and played Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable and the father
of the Huxtable family.
His wife Clair , played by Phylicia Rashad, was
a successful attorney. They had 4 daughters
and one son named Theo.
Malcom Jamal Warner, the actor who played
Theo, drowned on July 20 in Costa Rica.
I personally believe under very mysterious circumstances.
Malcom was 54.
I only connected this particular Malcom of having
possible sync connections because of the significance
of water, man overboard, and baptism
all being in the sync stream of late ( pun not intended).
“Snake eyes, paradise” may also relate to Eva Menander. Eva is Eve, and WG zeroed in on Menander’s line about throwing the dice.
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
Yet another meaning is “Roll snake eyes, and you get paradise” — a long shot with an enormous payoff if it works. The highway is for gamblers.
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
Of course a long shot is no sweat for a real straight shooter.
Snake Eyes is a Deuce, as you called out, when rolling a Pair-O-Dice. You wrote yet another post after this on the Deuce of Cups. Again, on that card is the Caduceus, which comprises two snakes wrapped around each other, and looking at each other. Making Snake Eyes.
You also mention "throwing the dice". To throw can mean, strangely, "to turn, twist", just like those Snakes are doing around each other in the Caduceus.
Those Snakes have been compared with the Two Stones or Books that will join into one. Adam and Eve are the names I've attributed to the two Beings with those Snakes/ Books, and thus a good tie between the reference to Paradise and the Pair of Dice.
A Die is not just something you roll, but it also refers to a Stamp, which is another word for a Seal, if you remember, as an official mark or imprint. Further, you could also imagine yet another reference to Caesar and the die being cast in crossing the Rubicon. This "cast" die and the Rubicon itself is possible a reference to the Rose Stone, as the name Rubicon means "Red".
The Background Brothers is a funny reference. My guess is they are meant to reference the Stone Couriers. It makes sense, but there are other guesses as well. I've guessed that the Couriers are Beings who were known as the real-life brothers of Helaman and Shiblon. Background is a word that can mean "History" - someone or something's background. Both Helaman and Shiblon had been entrusted with the History and Genealogy of their people "even from the beginning". They had also at various times (if they are the Couriers) been entrusted with histories and backgrounds via the Stones that they carried and delivered. They worked in the Background, anonymously (The Couriers in my words admitted to having dropped off the Liahona, for example, but they did not appear to Lehi... he just found the ball outside his tent). And lastly, Back Ground can refer to their calling at the end of 2019 to return to this Earth. Back means "return" and Ground can refer to the surface of this earth, or the very bottom or foundation (an apt description for this world).
The Background as History reference in particular seems strong given that they sang a song that gives a history.
So, for all those reasons, plus their blue attire (referencing the Blue Wizards of both your and Daymon's stories), this can work. Their various name games that follow can be imagined to support this, as well as their direct reference to having looked into Crystal Balls (i.e., Palantiri).
It is interesting Billy Joel came up, though He came up for me just two days ago. After mentioning Val Kilmer in Tombstone, I wanted to watch it. In looking for it, a new Billy Joel documentary was advertised on HBO, and it caught my attention. I was, of course, particularly interested in the name, and looked up Joel. It means "Jehovah is God".
This takes me now to Abinadi, and his declaration to King Noah that there will be those with beautiful feet on mountains who will declare to Zion "Thy God Reigneth!", with this seeming to be a very similar declaration as is asserting that Jehovah is God, with both implying that God will ultimately save his people.
The connection with Abinadi is actually made more so now due to the mention of Ziff in your dream. Ziff is mentioned only twice in the Book of Mormon, both times in conjunction with Noah. He taxed the people for their Ziff, and he built "many elegant and spacious buildings" with this same Ziff. Apparently it is a Hebrew word that mens "Bright, Shining", so its use in your dream context with Bugs Bunny is maybe based on that.
And Noah definitely started a Fire when he burned Abinadi up. Pharazon started a heck of a one as well.
Though their original message of a Momma who wants to put out fires has me wondering whether even if these Brothers are meant to portray the Stone Couriers, if they maybe actually aren't. I don't know.
Back to Billy Joel, Joe or Joey is a nickname for both Joel and Joseph, which seemed relevant in tying those names together. He is also known as The Piano Man, and the Piano factors heavily into some of my dream symbols.
Wm Jas Tychonievich said...
The name William Martin Joel has particular significance for me, though I'm not at liberty to go into any more detail than that.
Though you wouldn't know it to look at him today, the young Billy Joel bore a distinct facial resemblance to Sly Stallone and was apparently a pretty good amateur boxer.
