It is so good, it almost makes you forget who it's about. not to show my age, but if you own Abbey Road on vinyl, you know it's time to flip it over.
William,
At the risk of sounding like a Debbie Downer ( pun not intended)
( and this is coming from me a person who was
and still is a rabid Beatle Fan),
sadly I'm not convinced that the Beatles were the songwriters of their music.
It's well known that George Martin and his engineering magic
created the Beatles' sound'. George Martin was known as
The Fifth Beatle.
Keep in mind that in the early 1960's before The Beatles
arrival at JFK airport on Pan Am flight 101(11??!) on Feb 7, 1964,
The Beatles were a cover band performing in dive bars in
Hamburg, Germany.
Brian Epstein who was an owner and manager of
his family's retail stores in Liverpool transformed
them from their rough scruffy teddy boy biker image
to the suited 4 mop head lads from
Liverpool and the rest is history.
The Beatles first album on Vee-Jay records, which I got from
Santa one Christmas, was mostly cover songs from other artists.
. I think the elementary She Loves You and maybe
I Want to Hold Your Hand were on that album.
So, The Beatles went from She Loves You in Feb of1964
to Rubber Soul in Dec 1965
a total transformation as far as writing style and music and
then to Sgt. Pepper in 1967?
Hmmmmm.....That dog don't hunt.

William,
Sorry, The Frankfurt School, not Franklin School.
