Three kings in a rug

Thinking about "Rub-a-dub-dub" made me think of a bit of doggerel I wrote when I was maybe 12 or 13 years old. It was inspired by a 12th-century carving that was supposed to represent an angel appearing to the three wise men in a dream but actually looked as if the angel was rolling them up in a rug. Here's a photo of the carving; it was surprisingly easy to track down online.

The rhyme I wrote was this:

Rub-a-dub-dub,
Three kings in a rug,
And who do you think they be?
Robert Bruce, Charlemagne,
And Juan Carlos of Spain.
Roll them up, Gabe, all three.

As I read this now, the ending leads into "Roll up! Roll up for the mystery tour, roll up!" which in turn leads, for complex psychological reasons, into Rufus T. Firefly saying, "You know, you haven't stopped talking since I came here? You must have been vaccinated with a phonograph needle."

A completely random chain of associations? But the fact that the above clip from Duck Soup opens with a head of state waking up under an eight-pointed star, like the kings in that old carving, suggests that there is synchromystical method in't.

Update: Wikipedia informs me that "Magical Mystery Tour" is used in the latest Indiana Jones film, where, appropriately, it wakes Indy up. Also in the teaser trailer for the Minecraft movie.

William,
Ahhhh.... the Eight Point Star again.
It's EVERYWHERE!

And speaking of Eights and Beatles and
wizards and 4 and 22
and baseball Oh my!
Check this out:
Eight Days a Week.

Eight Arms to hold you ( which was the original working
title of HELP.)

In the Eight Days a Week video below( which is footage
of the Beatles performance at Shea Stadium on Aug
15, 1965) note the Square and Compass of
the baseball diamond.
Copy and paste:
"Baseball was not necessarily invented but rather
developed over time. The variations were many before
the cementing of the modern rules, game
and business of baseball.

Rounders was a game played in England which
baseball most likely developed from and baseball
was around in The US in one form or another since
at least the early 180So to say that baseball always
had an esoteric bend to it might be a stretch.
However, when we look at the design of the
modern baseball field one cannot help but to notice
the compass and square basis of the field layout.

The compass and square symbolism is most
frequently associated with Freemasonry.
But the compass and square symbolism is adopted
by the group as an ancient pairing of symbolism
concepts and aspects of esotericism
– most notably the union of opposites,
of masculine and feminine.

The baseball itself is designed with 108 stitches,
108 being perhaps the most esoteric number,
with one layer of it symbolizing the finite and infinite,
the masculine and feminine, coming together."
~~~~~~~~~~~
I actually have a puzzle piece for 108, but I won't go
into detail of it here.
On the Magical Mystery Tour album
was also the songs , Fool on the Hill,
Your Mother Should Know,
and Blue JAY Way.
Blue-Green, and Roy Jay recently being
in the sync stream is interesting.
Also in the video of Your Mother
Should Know, note that Paul
is the only Beatle not wearing a red flower.
I think the flower might be a red poppy,
or perhaps a carnation.
Both poppies and cars (vehicle) being
in the sync stream.
Back in the day, us Beatle fans took the black
flower as a clue that indeed the Paul is Dead
rumor was true. The rumor was started by
the DJ's on the radio and in print media ( 16 magazine
and Teen Beat ) in 1966.
The Sgt.Pepper cover and song ( released 1967) was
also a Paul is Dead clue as
was Strawberry Fields Forever( 'cranberry sauce'.)
Magical Mystery Tour was released in 1967 as well.
As I previously commented, 1967 was a very pivotal
year for me.
And speaking of windows and Beatles,
and the photo you posted
of 3 Bugs,( oops I mean Mugs) in a Rug,
Oh My!!
check this out:
copy and paste Microsoft Co-Pilot:
"Carpet beetles
Three bugs in a rug refers to carpet beetles,
which are tiny pests that can cause damage
to natural fibers in homes.
These bugs are attracted to**** light and may head
toward windows***** to escape."****
Everything is connected, no?
Debbie, the Indiana Jones clip ties in with "Eight Days a Week." Indy shouts at Larry for playing loud music on a working day, and Larry replies that in fact it's not a working day because it's "Moon Day" -- as if it were an additional day of the weekend and thus an eighth day of the week.
William,
Part 1 of 2
I Just saw your update with the Indiana Jones clip
and Magical Mystery Tour.
The very first thing I thought of was: In-Diana.
Recall my previous comments about
my perspective regarding the significance
of In-Diana.
In the Indiana Jones
video you posted check out the reference to 8,
the opening of the window, the number 2,
the bat and more importantly the mention
of Moon Day (by Larry) which suggests the date
was July 20.
Copy and paste:
"On July 20, 1969, American astronauts
Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin
(1930-) became the first humans ever to land on the moon"
~~~~~~
As I'm sure you know,
the mythological Diana was a moon goddess.
The zodiac sign Cancer's ruling sign is the moon.
My sister and my mother's zodiac sign is/was Cancer,
as is Richard Starkey ( Ringo ) so there's another Beatle connection.
Copy and paste:
"Diana (Latin: [diˈaːna]) also written as Deiana,
is a goddess in Roman religion, primarily considered
a patroness of the countryside and nature, hunters,
wildlife, childbirth, crossroads, the night, and the Moon."
~~~~~~~~~~
Also and speaking of Diana and wildlife and deer/stags
you might find this interesting which
was two very odd experiences I had last week.
Here's the story:
One day last week I was sitting outside by myself.
It was a beautiful day. As mentioned Marshall
and I's house is surrounded
by woods, although we have a large clearing
near the house and outbuildings.
During the years we've
seen many deer on our property so it's not
uncommon to see deer. Sure enough as I was sitting
close to the back porch I saw a fawn appear around the corner
of one of the outbuildings.
Right behind that fawn another fawn appeared. At first
they didn't see me, but one of the fawns did
and we stared at each other for about 5 minutes or so.
Neither one of the fawns were scared nor did they run
off. They just continued eating the grass.
I then saw mom appear and she too saw me and
we both stared at each other for several minutes.
.
Mom too joined her 'family' and continued to eat the grass
which was not very far away from me at all.
Mom soon walked slowly back into the woods.
The fawns stayed behind about 4 or so minutes still
eating. I saw mom in the woods waiting for them
and they all slowly left.
I told Marshall how odd I thought it was.
He agreed.
Part 2
3 days later, the two fawns appeared again.
I didn't see mom.
They were sleeping in the same place
where they were eating previously, but
a bit closer to the house and garden.
I didn't see them at first as I had plans to sit out
again as it too was a beautiful day.
As I was opening the door, both fawns
looked my way, but didn't run off.
I didn't go outside as I didn't want
to frightened them. They stayed in the same
spot for about 15 minutes or so as Marshall
and I watched them from the window.
They then went in the garden and laid
there.
Marshall has black plastic
in the garden and I'm sure the deer
wanted to be near the warmth.
I don't know if they stayed there all
night or not, but it was a very odd
experience and has never happened
before.
I took a photo, I'll send it to your email.
In the apocalypse 2023 Netflix movie
Leave the World Behind ( which
I've commented about many times
on your blog ), there is a very interesting
deer connection.
The daughter (Rose) of the protagonist Amanda
seems to have a telepathic connection with
the deer, and my experiences last
week, made me think of that movie.
I posted both the trailer and a short video
clip of Leave the World Behind.
The short clip shows a bit more on the strangeness
that is happening concerning wildlife, especially deer.
The little girl wearing the Nasa T-Shirt is Rose.
William,
I just read your response about Eight Days a Week and
your great catch of Moon Day too. I must have been typing my
comment when you posted yours.
Sync fairies be busy.
William,
I watched the Indiana Jones clip again and the song
that is playing on the TV ( which Indy is watching )sounded
very familiar and sure enough it came to me.
It was theme song from a 1969 TV show
HR Puffnstuff.
Don't go back abed
This morning, I woke up an hour before my alarm, with a simple melodic motif in my head as if left over from a dream. Wanting to jot it down...
