Stepping back from sync

“If the fool would persist in his folly, he would become wise.” I’ve persisted in sync-posting for long enough now that I think I can say that it’s not getting me anywhere and that its effect on my readers has been net negative.

I will still be logging syncs as they arise and trying to make sense of them, but I won’t be doing any of that work in public anymore. The theory was that with more people trying to interpret the syncs, their “objective” meaning would emerge more quickly. In practice, what happens is that each person interprets things in light of his or her particular hobby horse, and no consensus or clarity is produced.

There’s also the issue that no one really knows where syncs come from or how trustworthy that source may be. If I’m getting messages in a language I can’t read, from sources whose motives and reliability are unknown, why would it be a good idea to share all those messages with the world?

As I’ve said, I will continue to explore syncs in private. However, I will be discontinuing all practices (stichomancy, Tarot reading, Randonautica, etc.) which actively seek to induce synchronicity. More data points aren’t helping anything and only serve to distract me and to fill up my limited free time which would be better spent actually thinking.

The problem as I see it, is that significant messages would not be sent in any "language" at all, unless that language *would" be understood spontaneously and unambiguously i.e. unless we knew instantly and without doubt what it means (which I think *used to be* the case).

Since that is Not the case, why use synchronicities as a means of interaction? No good reason that I see.

If any higher Being had anything important to say - something of specific substance - synchronicity would not be a good way of saying it. Unless, maybe, as a First step towards inducing some suspicion that there were "more things in Heaven and earth..." - which is in fact what synchronicities did for me; as did some personal-miracles/ answered prayers.

Nor, indeed, would miracles, visions, or the spoken word - given that nowadays we find all symbols susceptible of multiple interpretations.

None of these intermediary communications seem like useful ways of communicating, assuming we believe there is another way that bypasses them.

*If* one believes in the possibility of *direct* knowing - then that seems obviously to be the best way of "communicating" meaning in current circumstances.

I'm not sure you're making a good call here (and I doubt Claire wants the cards left unused). Considering recent events, try it temporarily if you must, but I wouldn't be surprised if you end up walking it back.

I firmly believe that evil forces cannot alter the fabric/river of Time in any permanent sense. Since Time is a key factor, true sync -- I say "true" to exclude things like Cabal signalling and preprogramming -- is primarily the work of Good, and evil has few attack vectors available in this way.

As somewhat discussed in private, my experience with sync flies in the face of nearly everything Bruce has said above. "Direct thinking" may have been common in the long-distant past, but that's not current reality; such directness has barely featured for me, if at all. I needed something tangible and relatively mundane before the syncs, making them a second step in growth ongoing. Some of the most blatant instances required much time and/or thought to realise their meaning -- I'm still finding new things in years-old syncs, the beauty of hindsight -- while other instances have been incredibly specific and/or didn't take long to determine. As to why beings would interact with us in this way, I have no problem with Good needing to work slowly and subtly sometimes, especially in this cursed age. Their signs are all around us, hidden in plain sight.

I'll have more to say in email soon.

Bruce, of course direct knowing is the ideal, but communication is still obviously necessary in many situations, which is why we're writing these comments to each other. In my experience at least, I can't directly-know something to be true until the idea has occurred to me via ordinary thought. For novel ideas I've never considered, this requires communication.

WG, as stated, I will continue to work with sync. I just won't be doing it publicly and won't be actively seeking out more syncs until I've been able to digest what I've got, at least to some degree.

This isn't necessarily a permanent decision. We'll see how things develop.

I should add that the cards won't be going to waste. I still meditate often on the Tarot as a symbolic system; I just won't be doing divination proper. Just as I will continue to read the Bible and Book of Mormon but won't be practicing stichomancy.

Do what is Wright, let the consequence follow

Last night, Bill Wright left a comment ending thus: Anyway, I wrote all of the above before reading your latest post [ this one ] with that...
