A sync on outgrowing "fun"

I was writing something (musings triggered by Irish Papist's post "A Thought on Atheists Returning to the Faith," which may or may not end up being posted here in some form) and had just completed the following paragraph:

In general, people make major life changes because their needs and priorities change, not because they suddenly realize that those same old needs and priorities would be better served by a completely different lifestyle. Young people are focused on fun, and then they settle down -- not because they finally figure out that settling down is more fun, but because fun is no longer their highest priority.

After finishing that paragraph, I decided to take a break and check my blogroll, where I found a new post from Laura Wood called "Is Old Age for Fun or Wisdom?"

William,
IMHO, 'fun' has never been the priority as why our existence in
this duality dimension. Fun is an ego pursuit. Entertainment
to pleasure the ego, which the ego pleasures and protects
the physical body only.

IMHO, the soul falls down each incarnation/incarceration
to gather knowledge ( the good, the bad and the ugly and from
a vast spectrum of ideologies, not just one.

The soul 'falls down' each lifetime so as to evolve and to eventually
earn our place with pure energy, which I believe is God.

For a high vibrational soul to be released from the wheel
of time and space and become one with God, is heaven;-)))

This , at least to me, explains the Egyptian deity
Maat. She 'weighs' our soul to enter the portal with God
and if we are too ego heavy like Humpty Dumpty
and not as light as a feather
we are not allowed in the portal.

Having a very strong belief in Spirituality
is the reason I could never be an atheist.
I believe we are more than our physical bodies.

Many of us do not realize this, and we succumb to our ego
each and every incarnation until we find balance.

IMHO, of course.

Fourth experiment ruined by haste
