The Zelenskyy regime is a geopolitical George Floyd.

When I see your yellow-and-azure emoji and your #IStandWithUkraine hashtag, I look at you no differently than if you had #BLM and your pronouns. Yes, it's that level of stupid. In fact, it's really just exactly the same phenomenon, slightly differently manifested.

I had just written the above (including the headline) and was thinking about whether to post it or delete it or elaborate, when I decided to check a few blogs and found this:

So I guess I'm not the only one to have made the connection! The sync fairies have spoken: published it shall be.

In the UK, it is also the same phenomenon as the anti-Brexit/ Remain grouping; who European Union flags on their Facebook pages, as icons representing what they deeply believe-in.

The world divides cleanly by their reaction to this recent quote from Dugin:

"The modern West — where the Rothschilds, Soros, the Schwabs, Bill Gates and the Zuckerbergs triumph — is the most disgusting phenomenon in world history.

"It is no longer the West of Greco-Roman Mediterranean culture, the Christian Middle Ages, or even the violent and contradictory twentieth century.

"This is the graveyard of toxic waste of civilization — it is anti-civilization."

A minority of us would respond along the lines of: "Well yes, obviously".

But a large majority would respond with bewildered incomprehension; and the assumption of insanity, idiocy, or manipulative evil at work.

And these are the same who believe whatever the unified Establishment and media tell them is true today; who enthusiastically endorse and revere whatever symbols are thus supplied; who suppress and sanction whatever they are pointed-at.

So long as there is one single person or institution (whether real or wholly-fabricated) that does not conform eagerly to their belief-system; then these hive-minded mass-Men will simultaneously see themselves as beleaguered radical activists, bravely fighting powerful vested interests.

I hadn't seen the quote Bruce mentions but it sums up the modern West. That being said, Russia is corrupt too in a different way and though it was clearly pushed into a corner by the West's behaviour, it can't be right to invade another country. On the other hand, what you say about standing with Ukraine etc, a country most of the people now standing with knew nothing about a couple of weeks ago and still don't know much, is absolutely right. Once again, we are being manipulated. It's getting more 1984ish by the day.

@Bruce

Yes, what you quoted is very obviously true, and it's also true that many people (somehow!) still can't see it!

@William

I don't #StandWithRussia, either; as they're just the lesser evil.
