Pinging all the syncs

I had a quiet Fourth, on account of (a) not having any American friends and (b) not being allowed to do anything anyway. We rented a DVD (yes, some people still do that) and watched it at home over a non-barbecued dinner and a few beers.

The movie was chosen more or less at random and wasn't particularly good, but it prominently featured:

All of the above were major themes -- and the name of the movie itself couldn't have been more appropriate: Synchronic.
